To make sure you make your tour, plan for extra time as this is a tender port. Connor took us a wonderful tour of Rock of Cashel - Cahir castle & Kilkenny. There is lots of bus time to take in the scenery and a nap along the way. We were fortunate to have great weather and perfect visibility. Make sure that you layer your clothing for the changing weather.
Perfect day...longer than expected! Our guide, Connor, excellent! He communicated very well the day before the tour and we had no worries about getting back to the ship on time. Connor was full of great info. We felt very fortunate! Enjoyed our stops too!

I would give this tour no stars if possible. The company doesn't actually operate this tour I don't think. I purchased it in March for my mom for her birthday. They contacted me several times telling me the dates I selected weren't available (even though they had them marked available on the website). I got a text the day before welcoming her to the tour, then she arrived at the meeting place only to be told they couldn't offer her the tour I paid for due to low numbers but they would take her on a private tour for €700. Felt very bait & switch to me. We'll see if the refund comes back to me or not.
Dear customer, We were very surprised by your comments. We have reviewed our messages. Your reservation was for August 18th, on June 9th, you were informed through Viator that this tour was a semi-private tour, requiring a minimum of number pax and that it was thinking mainly for cruise passengers. We were 100% sure this tour won´t happen due no big cruise ship docking on the area. Therefore, we notified you of the situation two months in advance when you decided to change your booking date. Regarding the quote for the private tour, we have no record of you requesting a private shore excursion with us so 700€ is NO our quotation I understand that it can be very frustrating not being able to enjoy our wonderful experiences, but our semi-private tours have certain rules that must be followed. In this case, a minimum number of passengers (established in the tour description) and pick-up is only at Dunmore East Port. Greetings and I wish you the best. Pilar Gonzalez Top Private Tours
Connor was a friendly and excellent guide. We covered a lot of interesting historical sites during the tour. The guide and driver made certain we returned to our cruise ship with a couple of hours to spare before departure.

Unfortunately we were not able to make the tour due to weather. No refunds given. This was unfortunate considering it was an event out if the control of both the tour operator and the tourists. It's given us pause to do a private tour again ( versus the cruise ship, which refunded all thier tours due to the unforseen weather event)
Dear Customer, We appreciate your comments but we would like to ask being a bit more precise on your review... on this specific tour we refund 55% of the amount paid ( penalty was 42€per person) even though the captain of the boat decided not to make the tender at the very last minute and all our buses and tour guides were at the port waiting for you, as you well know viator.com has a 24-hour cancellation policy, despite this, a little more than half of your payment has been returned, we, as tour operator are assuming most of loss.. contracts need to respect as you well know, I am almost sure that if you request it to your travel insurance it will be reimbursed without any problem Many Thansk & hoping see you soon again Pilar Gonzalez
The tour was disappointing as our tour guide was not very knowledgeable. Our first stop was Rock of Cashel. Here our guide did not tell us anything. He was counting on the Rock of Cashel guides to speak. However, it was busy when we got there and there were no guides available. We walked around and watched the movie about this place in the chapel. Next, we went to Smithwicks. This was the best part of the trip. The tour was given by the brewery guides. Smithwicks is a great place to visit. Finally, we thought we would see some of Kilkenny. However, our guide took the group to a restaurant to eat soup at your own cost and there was no time to walk around Kilkenny. We were very disappointed as we thought we would get to see more of Kilkenny. The guide did not give us an option or time frame to site see on our own while they sat in the restaurant. We did not go far as we were worried we would get left behind and miss our ship.
Dear customer, We are surprised with your comments, on this tour there were a total of 19 people, whom give us great feedback. We have, however, investigated this issue and we would like to clarify that your cruise ship docked an hour later than expected which caused lose your reservation at Rock of Cashel. We are sure that Brian on the bus gave you an introduction to it but I understand thatyu might was distracted by the wonderful landscape of Ireland. Finally, note that the corresponding visit to Black Abbey has been made as established in our program, which is another wonder...after this visit some people requested to eat something before visiting the brewery,. We are sure, if you had requested free time To visit Kilkenny by yourself, Brian would have been happy to offer it. This was a wonderful tour. Surprised how much I enjoyed it. The countryside was so beautiful…..can’t really appreciate the country or the small towns unless you take a tour like this. The creative experience at Smithwicks should be a must for everyone…..and we don’t even like beer.

The trip and sites we visited were excellent, only concern was that our tour guide did not follow a time schedule and dropped us off at the ship 2 minutes before the last tender. Lucky for us the ship had extended the port time, otherwise we would have been in trouble. Had there been any traffic delays, we would have missed the ship.
