Food was simple but delicious, but too expensive. Mama Nina speaks Albanian and her colleague translates. As a result, communication was somewhat limited and there were few explanations.

Pros: the venue is in Berat castle and very scenic. The hosts were friendly. You get to eat traditional Albanian cuisine, and the food is truly delicious. You also get to try some Raiki and Albanian wine. Cons: it’s not really a cooking class in that you don’t actually learn how to cook the dishes. The kitchen is too small to accommodate everyone on the tour, so we took turns cooking, so we missed how to cook each dish from start to finish. (In early July) we were fending off wasps as well. Overall: If you are looking for a relaxing activity in Berat and to eat home cooked traditional food, this is a good option. If you are hoping to take any cooking knowledge home, you may be disappointed. Notwithstanding, we enjoyed the activity.

I had a wonderful time this morning at Nina's cooking class. We prepared three different dishes, each with fresh local ingredients. It was all done in a very friendly and supportive atmosphere. I was travelling alone, and was made very welcome. At the end we enjoyed some great food. Highly recommended - a great way to spend a few hours in Berat.

We enjoyed our cooking class with Mama Nina. She made us feel like family and gave us insight on how to prepare delicious traditional dishes.

We had a really great time cooking with Nina and the others. It felt like a really family-like experience and the food was amazing. They were also really respectful about vegetarian boundaries too, although the main dish had meat in it. I would recommend everyone to experience this very local way of making traditional albanian food!

Amazing experience, Nina showed us how to make 3 popular albanian dishes, the recipes were very simple so this was perfect for a beginner, and we got to eat everything afterwards with a bit of wine. Everything was delicious. Nina and the guide, Mihail, are some of the nicest people we have met in Albania. 10/10

Nina and her team created a wonderful ambience and vibe for our cooking class. It was great to be seated with others like a true dinner party. The cooking was fun, the conversations were fantastic, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend to anyone looking to try a different experience in Albania.

Had a great cooking lesson! We were confused at first because we thought we had a cooking class in Castle Park but this was even more fun! Very nice area and Nina and Mikel were so nice and cozy. The recipes are also very easy to copy. Super experience!
