リガのこの地域にあるいくつかの美しい建物は、ユダヤ人建築家のミハイル・エイゼンシュタインによって設計され、建物の 1 つで哲学者イザヤ・バーリンが生まれました。
ここはリガのユダヤ人ゲットーの旧領土で、多くの建物が第二次世界大戦時の 80 年前と同じ形をしています。
1941 年 7 月 4 日、リトアニアと地元のラトビアのユダヤ人からの 300 人以上のユダヤ人難民がシナゴーグの地下室に集められ、意図的に焼き払われました。今日は記念の場所があります。
1941 年 11 月、ナチスはリガ ゲットーのユダヤ人囚人を完全に根絶することを決定しました。 1941 年 11 月 30 日と 12 月 8 日に発生した事件では、ドイツから強制送還された約 1,000 人のユダヤ人を含む 25,000 人以上がルンブラの森で殺害されました。 2002 年 11 月 29 日に完全な記念碑が開かれました。

Peitavas 通りにあるリガのシナゴーグは、リガのアール ヌーボー様式の宝石の 1 つであり、重要な文化的モニュメントです。シナゴーグは 1903 年から 1905 年に建設され、古代エジプトのモチーフを取り入れたアール ヌーボー様式で設計されました。

An excellent tour of places of Jewish interest in Riga. We achieved do much in just a few hours. Armands was a very interesting guide, extremely flexible.
Armands was a wonderful host and tour guild. His in depth understanding of Riga’s Jewish history knowledge was superb. He also shared many fascinating and captivating local stories and legends. I would highly recommend taking this 5 Star tour.

Very interesting tour of Holocaust memorials and the local synagogue. Very poignant tour of Riga and surrounding areas.
We enjoyed the tour a lot. Our guide was knowledgeable. Very knowledgeable. We saw everything we wanted and were able to spend the time we wanted at each place without being rushed. He went over time originally planned because we spent more time at each site which we thought was so kind.

This was a very comprehensive and informative tour about the Jews of Riga. It gave the history, the accomplishments, and the tragic end during the holocaust. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and explained everything thoroughly. He gave us enough time at all the stops to do a little exploration on our own.
Armands was very knowledgeable and answered our questions. We went to several sites and witnessed memorials for the Jews that were killed in World War II. This tour is a somber tour and was presented with tact and honor for the memories of those lost. We learned much and purchased a book at the Jewish Ghetto museum.
