Omar was an incredible guide, one of the best we had during our 9 day trip across Aswan, Luxor, and Cairo. His love and pride for his Nubian culture could not be replicated with another guide. Additionally the transportation - car & boat - were far above par from our other tours. We deeply appreciated the thoughtful gestures such as cold mango and chai on the boat ride. Omar was so helpful that he was able to help us get a car to Abu Simbel when another tour fell through. A fantastic excursion that I heartily recommend to anyone who wants to experience the true local essence! The felucca ride in Aswan was incredibly relaxing, making us glide gently along the waters of the Nile. The real strength of the tour was our guide, Moataz: simply excellent, super smiley, and always engaging. He filled us with explanations and was very available to answer all our curiosities about both Aswan and Nubian culture. Once we arrived at the Nubian village, we visited an authentic typical house and walked through its characteristic narrow streets. An authentic experience that I absolutely recommend!

We had an absolutely fabulous afternoon with Omar on the tour. We were picked up promptly from our hotel and taken on a gorgeous felucca up the Nile before heading back down to the Nubian village. We stopped off for a little swim before exploring the village and having some lovely hibiscus tea and snacks. Omar was kind, attentive and fascinating with his tales of the Nubian culture and life. Finally we had a gorgeous sunset trip back to Aswan where he kindly had the boat drop us off at a restaurant he recommended (absolutely delicious!). 100% recommend if you are in Aswan.

We had an amazing time with Omar on this tour! We wanted tour that was a break from all the temple/ancient Egypt tours and experience a “local/slice of life” vibe..this was a perfect option! Omar picked us up at our boat lobby and took us on his brother’s felucca, which was beautifully decorated and was extremely comfortable. We were presented with Egyptian tea and had a chat about Nubian life. We sailed through the Nile and he explained the history along the banks of Aswan and even stopped for a quick dip in the Nile to cool off (what a unique experience)! We then visited a beautiful Nubian village, visited a local home, and sampled some homemade dishes. The whole experience was amazing. We felt safe and Omar was very friendly and knowledgeable. We highly recommend this tour!

The tour included two boat rides—a peaceful and relaxing felucca ride, followed by a motorboat ride outside the city and deeper into the biodiversity of the River Nile. Along the way, Omar shared his knowledge and pointed out different bird species. At the Nubian village, we arrived from a different side than the other boats, which allowed us to skip the crowds. I really enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend booking it with Omar.
