My wife and I booked a private city tour directly with the Operator and spent much less than we would have for any excursion booked off of our ship. We had great directions to get to the Taxi and basically had from 9 AM until 3 PM when we were due back at the ship. We got to see the real parts of Puerto plata, not just all the tourist things. We had an authentic lunch and overall this trip exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend.

Ismael has been exceptionally courteous & helpful w/assisting us to arrange our RT transfers from Santiago airport to our hotel resort @ Puerto Plata . He has further arranged 2x addl’l private customized day trips for us during our stay in DR . His driver , Christian is not only a good driver but is also a polite young man & who was promptly on time every day . Thank-you for your kind assistance & your excellent service .

Had an absolutely amazing day with Ismael as he took us to see the monkeys and around the city. Lots of fun tasting rum, chocolate, and coffee! His knowledge and personality were top notch and we couldn’t have asked for anything better for our day in Puerta Plata. Will definitely book with him again the next time we are here.

Great coverage of the city with information on history and current cultural situations. Ismael was very accommodating and willing to customize the trip as needed. I will definitely recommend to friends da traveling to the city.

We had Ismael as our private driver and tour guide on a visit that corresponded with a holiday. It was clearly worthwhile to have a local expert take us around to sites and a delicious restaurant that were open. I would have been scrambling if I had tried to come up with a day’s worth of itinerary!

This is the tour to take! It’s customizable and the tour guide is on your time, not the company’s which was pleasant as we were not on a timetable and could spend as much or little time at each stop we chose. The tour also includes an included authentic lunch at a local restaurant. Elvis was an awesome tour guide and very popular too! Everyone knew him at every stop we went and each person spoke highly of him. He always made sure we were seeing what we wanted, if we were doing good with the stops, and was accommodating when changing things up slightly due to an overly tired 4 year old. He and the company are highly recommended!

Ismael is amazing. He is extremely knowledgeable, and treats his “guests” extraordinarily well. We had a great time seeing Puerto Plata with him.

This was a last minute decision to consider Viator options after we were already IN port. We were very lucky and found ISMAEL. Based on + reviews we hoped to talk to him about our needs. (Communication was via WhatsApp.) We wanted to have flexibility on itinerary/AC in car/and English speaking driver. ISMAEL quickly found ELBIN for us. ELBIN was courteous, knowledgable, thoughtful and considerate. Exactly what we needed! We enjoyed our time together very much! PS-The meal and service at Coma en Familia was icing on the cake!
