It was a wonderful tour with Ahmed and the German-speaking tour guide Mohammed (a trained Germanist and Egyptologist). We booked the complete package with an expert and lunch. We had already arranged individual pickup times with Ahmed in advance and also booked an additional visit to the Luxor Museum and Mummification Museum on another day. The communication was super from the beginning! We were able to choose which three tombs we wanted to visit during the tour. Not all tombs are always open, and some burial sites cost an extra fee, including the tomb of Tutankhamun. However, you can decide that yourself on-site and purchase it there if the three included burial sites are not enough for you. The Tutankhamun tomb then costs about 15€ extra per person. The Egyptologist Mohammed really made the visit an experience for us. The way he told us the history of the Egyptians so vividly and entertainingly, with wit and his excellent knowledge, kept even our four teenagers awake and engaged. 😅 Throughout the entire time, we could always get well-chilled bottled water for free, which was really important in the summer heat. To finish, Ahmed took us to lunch, which we had booked as an option. Only the soft drinks had to be paid for separately. The lunch exceeded our expectations. He took us to a small hotel and we could choose between meat, chicken, fish, and vegetarian dishes. Unfortunately, we couldn't eat everything because so much was served, and everything was very delicious and offered in a charming little garden with an air-conditioned restaurant. To conclude, Ahmed helped us purchase hibiscus tea, which he bought for us from a local merchant before he brought us back to the hotel. We can really only recommend the tour and would book Ahmed again anytime! Many thanks to Ahmed and Mohammed!

I highly recommend Ahmed for all visits around Luxor! He is punctual, smiling, speaks English and it is a pleasure to discover the surroundings with him! I highly recommend Ahmed 😊🚗✨ He is a very serious, reliable, and always punctual driver. His car is recent, very clean, and comfortable, which makes every journey really enjoyable. During my stay, this allowed me to be based in Luxor while easily visiting the surrounding areas: Edfu, Aswan, Abydos… and even organizing multi-day trips when needed 🧳☀️. It was a practical, reassuring, and very comfortable way to travel. Ahmed is also very helpful: whenever you need something, he always has good contacts and knows how to make great suggestions to make the trip easier 👍🏼 In addition to being professional, he is a young, polite, educated, smiling, and very pleasant person. He speaks good English, which makes communication easy and makes the whole experience even smoother 😊 I warmly recommend him to anyone who wants to discover the region with peace of mind 🌟👏🏼

We had an incredibly great trip to the desert oases with Ahmed. I can recommend it 100%. He is absolutely reliable, friendly and prudent. His conduct in relation to any difficulties at all times sovereign, respectful and safe. He is a responsible driver, his car very comfortable and comfortable even for longer distances. You can have a great conversation with him (he speaks very good English) about all sorts of topics, very interesting and funny - but you can also do your own thing. We took a trip with Ahmed as driver to dakhla & Kharga oasis, for 4 days, he was fun kind, polite , accommodating , patient and generous, hes a really great person to go on a trip with, he made everything smooth and easy. He has great english and translates when we needed him to. His manner is perfect for this, never hassle always fun, we would 100% recommend him for which ever trip you choose to take.

My family had a wonderful time visiting Luxor and we owe many thanks to Ahmed. For two days he was our driver and guide, although not an Egyptologist, as we toured the West and East he shared his knowledge, anecdotes, and personal affinity for the historical and archeological sites around Luxor. Ahmed was also very helpful with assisting us in navigating buying entry tickets, going to the market to buy some food, and choosing restaurants and coffee shops. Ahmed treated us like friends and neighbors and made us feel comfortable and at home. We would definitely recommend booking with Nile Neighbors and Ahmed if you are planning a visit to Luxor.

This was a great experience overall. I booked the driver only option since it was budget friendly and I don’t regret it. Ahmed, my driver, was helpful and kind throughout the morning. He helped me navigate buying my tickets at the Valley of the Kings, stopped along the way when I wanted to take pictures, and overall ensured my comfort throughout. He was happy to chat and answer questions and as a solo woman traveler I never felt uncomfortable. After visiting the three attractions, Ahmed even offered to take me to a local restaurant so I could pickup lunch and take it back to my airbnb. The restaurant was not a touristy place so he helped me decide what I wanted and order. The food was so delicious, among the best I’ve had in Egypt. The day went so well, I made arrangements with him to take me to tour East Bank the following day and I am so glad I did. It was another lovely day getting to see Luxor with what felt like a local friend. Ahmed helped navigate the souk after visiting Karnak and Luxor temple and took to another delicious restaurant in the east to pick up dinner. It was clear that Ahmed lives up to the name of his business, Nile Neighbors. He has a love for Luxor that is genuine and does a great job sharing that and making you feel not like another tourist but like a friend he’s hosting. Thank you so much for the wonderful time!

I had a wonderful time touring the West Bank through this experience. I booked the only driver option as I am a single traveler on a budget but for the price it was worth it. The driver, Ahmed, was very helpful and kind throughout the tour. He picked me up at my rental promptly and we began the day. I appreciated his clean and spacious SUV and his offering me water throughout the morning. When we arrived at the Valley of the Kings he explained to me the process for buying my ticket and what it included (3 tombs of my choice but King Tut’s tomb is extra which I decided not to do). He let me know it typically takes around 2 hours to walk around and enjoy the valley and to shoot him a message when I was wrapping up. After exploring the Valley of the Kings, which was incredible, we were off to Hatshepsut’s Temple. Ahmed was happy to chat with me and answer my questions. He also highlighted other points of interest throughout our excursion in the West Bank. After taking in the Temple of Hatshepsut, I was off to my final stop, the Colossi of Memnon. On the way, Ahmed was kind enough to stop so I could take pictures near the mountain and of other temples/sites along the way. When we arrived to Memnon, it was very cool to hear Ahmed share how he grew up watching the archeological site unfold and how it has changed in the last 20 years. He even pointed out a new statue that they just finished erecting this past November, I didn’t realize how much research and new findings are still occurring all around Luxor. After visiting this last, awe inspiring monument, Ahmed was kind enough to checkin and ask me if I was hungry. I definitely was and so he offered to stop off at a local authentic Egyptian restaurant so I could pick up some food to take back with me to the Airbnb. Since this was a place not frequented by tourists, he helped me decide and order which, again, was so kind. This was legitimately one of the best meals I had while in Egypt. The chicken was so flavorful and juicy, the kofta was perfectly seasoned, even the rice and salads that came along with it were delicious. As a single woman traveling in Egypt, there are moments that can feel intimidating but touring around Luxor was a lovely and calmer experience compared to Cairo. Ahmed was so friendly, respectful and kind that I asked him if I could make arrangements with him to take me to tour the East side of Luxor which he thankfully was able to accommodate. The East side is a lot more traffic and city like compared to the West so I was so happy to have someone trustworthy to take me on adventures there. The following day, Ahmed was able to take me to see Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Souk, and to another delicious hidden gem for dinner. I really enjoyed my time in Luxor thanks to Ahmed and his Nile Neighbors hospitality. He consistently went above and beyond to make me feel like more than just another tourist. I truly felt Ahmed’s love for Luxor and his desire to share the Luxor he knows with others. Thank you again Nile Neighbors and Ahmed!
