市内中心部の少し外をドライブすると、世界的に有名な仏教巡礼地、サルナートの平和な町に到着します。 美しく整備された考古学公園を散策し、仏陀殿が悟りを開いた後、最初の説教をしました。
サルナート複合体の内部にあり、石とレンガで建てられたこの巨大な、そびえ立つ堅固な円筒形のストゥーパの前に立つ。 グプタ帝国時代にまで遡るその壁にある、古代の複雑な幾何学彫刻を眺めましょう。
バラナシの中心部に戻り、シヴァ神を祀る伝説の黄金寺院を訪れます。 新しく生まれ変わった壮麗な神殿の回廊を歩き、聖なる神殿とガンジス川のほとりを直接結びます。
クラシックな長柄建築様式で建てられた、赤い色彩が印象的な18世紀の寺院を見学します。 女神ドゥルガに捧げられたガイドが、この象徴的な神殿の背後にある豊かな神話、象徴、歴史を説明します。
活気に満ちた狭い古い街の路地をガイドと一緒に歩き、バラナシで最も神聖な火葬場へ。 聖なる川沿いで、生、死、カルマ、解放の達成（モクシャ）に関する古代ヒンドゥー教の哲学について学びます。

Everything I expected and that was promised .. on time pick up, comfortable drive with necessary rest stops, guide met me and provided the best information and showed me everything there was to see .. really really special .. the Taj Mahal was amazing and beautiful in equal parts. The Red Fort less beautiful but really historically interesting - my guide made the whole experience really special .. the trip was rounded off with a great all included breakfast at the Marriott which I needed because I’d been up since 2am .. was back at the hotel in Delhi by 3pm so all in all was 12 hours and the most memorable part of my trip to India ! Definitely recommend it for anyone with a day free while in Delhi .. it’s something you’ll never get to do again .. and the price was much much less expensive than the hotel offerings .. and much much better than all the other ‘pretenders’ that promise the world but don’t deliver. Maybe next time I’m here I’ll opt for the Jaipur trip .. watch this space .. in the meantime if you’re thinking of taking a trip to the Taj then these are the guys to make it happen!
