I joined two morning tours at the Chengdu Research Base to see Hua Hua and the baby pandas. From the start, Mr. Liu Ji was responsive and efficient, his fluent English facilitated communication. To visit the world-renowned Honorary Director of the Chengdu Culture and Tourism Bureau, Miss Hua Hua, expect a queue of around 45 mins to 1 hour for a brief 3-minute viewing. You also need to arrive at the Base before it opens at 7:30 a.m. Other uncontrollable factor includes many baby pandas sleeping on the trees, even in the morning. What sets Ji apart is his friendly, cheerful demeanor and seamless organization. Overall, the tours were comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend his service.

Great experience spending the afternoon in this Panda Base with a very knowledgeable guide that became our friend. We had the opportunity to visit unique enclosures of different species and learn new things about pandas. We strongly recommend this tour.

It was a very spontaneous and unplanned visit to Chengdu, and thanks to Ji, we had a fantastic day exploring all the highlights of the city. We highly recommend him as a guide. The little souvenirs from him were a lovely gesture. We will definitely come back here.

I had an amazing experience with my guide, Liu Ji! He accompanied me to the Panda Park and made the entire visit absolutely perfect. He was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive throughout the whole visit. His English is excellent, which made communication very easy and enjoyable, and he explained everything clearly with great enthusiasm. Thanks to him, the experience was smooth, interesting, and stress-free. Liu Ji went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment. Ji confirmed the session within minutes even though it was past 8pm on the day prior to the booking. On the day, William picked me up on time and was very nice throughout. He was very knowledgeable and patient and passionate about the Pandas, also gave me recommendations where to go & eat in Chengdu. Also knew how to circumvent the congestion so for the longer part of the experience there were not a lot of people. The driver was also very kind. Can truly recommend this service. Very professional.

Everything with this tour went according to plan, we were collected on time, our guide Sheen was very friendly and knowledgable. Seeing the pandas was a lifelong dream and I now have a cute fascination with red pandas too. Yes we probably could have done the trip ourselves by taxi or bus and hired a guide at the base but this tour saved us a lot of time and effort and for that it is worth the money. My only suggestion for improvements could be that you could provide more information on the conservation efforts for pandas. E.g. what is being done to protect them/release them but that’s just a personal preference. The other option could be to make it longer and visit another sanctuary if there is something different that they offer too.

Liuji organised for a colleague, Silvia and a driver to take us on this tour which was extended to include a visit to the Irrigation scheme. Silvia is an outstanding guide who is very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. We had a most relaxed, enjoyable day including an excellent lunch in a local restaurant. Both places are very well worth a visit. The Panda base is fun and the Irrigation scheme most interesting. The walk through the Bonzi garden should not be missed. I would highly recommend Silvia and the tour. Thank you to Liuji for organising this for us.
