We had a wonderful time on this tour! It was not just a food tour; we learned some Greek history and was able to walk around and explore Chania’s Old Town. Sophia was such a personable and friendly guide. She made sure we enjoyed many wonderful food items for breakfast and lunch. It was a great start to our stay on the island of Crete!

Sophia is amazing! I don’t think I could say it any better than Meredith M did. We have taken multiple tours with Sophia from food to hiking to villages to wine tasting and each one was fun and insightful. She listens to you, customizes your experience, and even provides useful advice you can use after your tour. This is a boutique experience with a wonderful person!

We cannot recommend Wonderers and Sophia Georgilaki highly enough! We did two tours with Sophia during our time in Crete: a food and artisan tour of Chania and a Kournas Lake & forest hike. We originally found Sophia through our in-laws, who moved from Florida to Crete and had taken tours with her and absolutely loved her. Now we completely understand why. Sophia is an exceptional tour guide and an even better human. She is kind, generous, warm, thoughtful, and so comfortable to be around. She was also wonderful with our kids, which made the experience even more special for our whole family. She seems to know everyone on the island and has a gift for tailoring each tour to the people she is with. The Chania food and artisan tour was incredible. We never would have discovered those shops or experiences on our own — from delicious local food to special behind-the-scenes moments, including seeing boureki being made down a back alley. It felt personal, authentic, and completely memorable. Sophia also suggested the Kournas Lake and forest hike for our family. At first, I thought it sounded nice but maybe not quite adventurous enough for what I had in mind. I was so wrong. It ended up being one of the absolute highlights of our trip. The mountain lake far exceeded our expectations — the paddle boats were so much fun, the scenery was stunning, and the hike itself was beautiful and unforgettable. Sophia helped us experience Crete in a way we never could have on our own. I will look her up every single time we go back to Greece. She is truly a gem.

Sophia was absolutely amazing! She knew exactly how much information we could soak in st once and she tailored the tour to our liking. She took us into back rooms of churches that the regular population would never uncover. It was an amazing way to start our visit to Chania!

Anna was great. A tour you won't soon forget. Food was really good and Anna is passionate about Chania. Really nice to send a few hours with a local who knows the city so well.

I highly recommend Sophia and woderers. This experience has been staying with me for a long time and still is very present. I got to see the best spots of chania. They are al really passionate, and I feel the heart and the real love they have for the island they love to show. This is a real experience of the autenthic side of Chania.

We do food/history walking tours in every new place we visit. We have done many over the years. This private tour with Sophia by far was the best experience we’ve ever had! We learned so much history, ate delicious local foods ( a lot !!), Tasted local varieties of honey, olive oil, local vines, Cretan Raki with honey. We love Sofia’s energy, her love for her homeland and culture 🫶🏻. She gave us amazing recommendations for things to do, beaches, hikes, restaurants and local taverns, shopping and so much more!! We had recommendations from her to fill our remaining days in Chania, she continued to provide us support and answer any questions even the days after the tour. We appreciated that so much! 🙏🏻. Do it on the first day or at the beginning of your visit to Chania, you’ll get invaluable information to make the best out of your trip!!

The tour started very well with a greek breakfast, Bougatsa, and from there we went to lots of local shops in Chania. Sophia, the tour guide, is very energetic and knowledgeable, with lots of connections on her tour. She appeared to know everyone on the tour and made sure that we were excellently catered to the entire time. She certainly made our Chania experience fun and interesting. Would definitely recommend if you’re curious about the history of the area and/or wanting to try the local cuisine.

Fabulous food & cultural tour of Chania. Sophia took us around both old and new towns, including family bakeries, restaurants, delis and street food plus a series of great little shops selling everything from handmade leather, pottery & knives to local producers of honey, oil & cheese. It was both a tasty & fascinating insight into the history and people of this wonderful city.

Sofia had our group for a week and showed us all of the local parts of Crete and not just the tourist parts. Sofia’s attention to detail and personality was second to none. I would highly recommend using her services and if I ever return I will definitely use her again.
