Our choice was to make our own tour with a professional guide and the with Darren’s guide was perfect . We this time wanted more time and we went from 7am to 8pm no trouble at all to Darren we saw so much it was great.
Down in Sydney for a party on Sunday decided to make another trip to the Blue Mountains. It's just nice to get out of the city for a day of short hikes, a good lunch and a little shopping in Leura. Dave obliged and returned us early for the evening Opera House show. It was a relaxing day with Dave an absolute pleasure.
You could not do better than a private tour. They make the day to your preferences and even did a late 10am pick up for us and was no trouble to return late. We wanted some easy hikes on this trip and Darren knew exactly where it was safe and easy, hiked down to the waterfall and into some thick bush to explain all the trees as we are naturist. We did so much , an excellent day. At scenicworld we had 2 hours, usually only one hour aswe did the train 4 times and had longer on the valley board walk with Darren explains it all as we walked.
Visiting our cousins in Sydney for Easter, we all decided to use Dave again for a complete family day out. There were 14 of us so Dave had to find a larger bus. No trouble for him and he collected us all at Coogee at 8.30am.. He is very accomplished and tells you all you need to know on the drive up. He finds the best places where there were no crowds and he ushered us through Scenicworld to avoid the crowds there too and took us all on the most interesting guided walk on the Boardwalk. He sure knows his way around and all the other guides know him. He is a gem and made our Blue mountains day so much better. The cool autumn weather was great. Lots of places to see and all the trees too. EAll our group agreed it was one of our best family days together.
The Mountains were beautiful. Be sure to bring some water and take your time experiencing the beauty along the trails.
Our guide was amazing and really made us a gorgeous day , again. Great lookout spots, different to last time, time for a very short hike to understand the plants and environment. The mountains are a wonderful place brought to life by our guide Dave.

For example, he heard us talk about birds and flora and brought us to places to see each. He answered loads of question we had about Australia and knew Scenic World by heart, as well as other Blue Mtn "must-see" locations. He also found a lovely place for us to eat in Katoomba that was healthy and delicious. Lastly, our weather was very hot today, so he adjusted the end of the trip to help us manage the heat. Five stars!

We had a great day visiting the Blue Mountains, which is well worth your time to go see. Brett, the tour guide, could not have been more professional and full of wonderful information to help enjoy your day. The van is very much the way to go; skip the crowds, the buses and get water and Wi-Fi to take with you on your walks through the various stops. This is definitely the way to go.
After more than 10 years we tripped again to Australia. We promised ourselves we would try to visit the Blue mountains the time. To make sure on this occasion we decided to pay a little more to make it a private trip just for us. We took the guidance of our hotel concierge who said he always had good feedback on the Blue ribbon company, so he booked us on for last week. It truly lived up to its reputation and we got lucky to have the best guide in Dave. He is a master of the mountains, you can tell he knows his stuff and how to make sure you have the best time. Yes he made us feel special going out of his way to do exactly what we wanted, a few short walks, some off the way viewpoints and avoided any crowds. We wanted to do the Scenicworld option which cost and extra $59 but was well worth it. Dave got us up to mKatoomba early so as to miss all the big tour buses which we saw when we had finished. A masterstroke by Dave. HIs recommendation of the Katoomba lunch cafe was perfect and we came home on a 45 minute comfy ferry along the river. You can see the difference to taking a bus tour with others and you may get left behind, of have your own guide and be guaranteed of a top day. ONE incredible day !
