サン・ジミニャーノの田舎でピクニック

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing afternoon at this winery. It was nice to get away from the crowds. Our picnic box was full of wonderful local delicacies and the host thought of everything to add to make us comfortable. She was so warm and welcoming. We chose the local white wine to pair with our meal. It was chilled and perfect for such a hot day. We also appreciated that there were areas set up in the shade with beautiful views.

This beautiful setting was surprisingly close to our hotel so we ambled up the lane at 5pm to collect our picnic box. A friendly welcome was waiting and a stunning view from the top of the hill. We added a white wine to our basket (and a beer) and were shown the perfect spot to lay the picnic blanket under the olive trees. The local produce was delicious, especially the chopped tomatoes & olive paste. With cold meats, cheese, chutney and bread, there was plenty for three, (we ordered 1.5 baskets). A unique experience filled with the spirit of Tuscany! Would definitely recommend.
