The Aarati ritual was an amazing thing to witness, but what we didn’t expect to see were the traditional Hindu cremations taking place that evening along the Bagmati River. Truly amazing and spiritual.

This was a great tour of the Aarati ceremony at Pashupatinath. Our guide spoke excellent English, and was an expert at getting around Pashupatinath and the surrounding neighborhood, and at explaining the sites to us. It rained while we were there, so our guide suggested a great rooftop restaurant at the nearby Bodnath Stupa, then we went back for the ceremony once the rain stopped. Highly recommended!
