オリンピアはユネスコの世界遺産のモニュメントのひとつで、公園のような外観をしている。 現地のツアーガイドと一緒に、次のような見どころを訪れます。 運動施設、古代の体育館、 古代世界の七不思議の1つである金象牙のゼウス像を安置していたゼウス神殿。 プラクシテレスのヘルメスの大理石像が発掘調査で見つかったヘラ神殿。 そして今、オリンピックの聖火の点灯式を行うモニュメント。 古代オリンピックを開催したオリンピックスタジアム。
ゼウス神殿は5世紀に建てられた。 BCとペロポネソス最大の宿であった。 ギリシャのランドマークであるアテネのパルテノン神殿の建築モデルとして働きました 古代には古代世界の七不思議の一つであったゼウスの金象牙の像を安置していた。
オリンピック会場で訪れることができる最古の寺院である。 紀元前7世紀にゼウスの妻ヘラを称えて建てられた。 紀元後最初の数年間は博物館として働き、幾つかのアンティグティを主催し、そのうちの1つはほぼ無傷で発掘調査中に発見された。 プラクシテレスのヘルメスの大理石像。紀元前4世紀の傑作で、オリンピアの考古学博物館に展示されている。 ヘラ神殿では、オリンピックの聖火の点灯式も行われている。

For the second time (because the first time was so fantastic), we used Elena from Tours By Locals, to give us an expert tour around ancient Olympia! She is a wealth of knowledge and information! We also appreciated Anastasia, who was so fun and accompanied us on our private transport while sharing more information about Olympia/Katakalon. She also took us to a wonderful local restaurant for lunch and a cooking class with Greek coffee afterwards! My family of 7 including 5 young adults loved it! Highly recommend!

Saskia was such a wonderful tour guide. So knowledgeable and friendly. She really knew how to help us see Olympia and understand what we were looking at. She was funny, bright and so personable. Plus she loves animals so I really liked her :) Our driver, Dimitrious took care of us! Took us to beautiful picture spots and hooked us up with a delicious lunch. Elena organized an amazing day for us, highly recommend. Don’t do Olympia any other way. And the winery! Amazing, delicious, beautiful . We bought olives, oil and drank!
The tour with Elena will be a lasting memory and was one to the highlights of our 2 weeks road trip through Greece. Our two kids (13 and 10) also had great fun (and there was plenty of time to translate to them as they do not speak English fluently). And they enjoyed the olive crowns Elena made for them!
Elena was a wonderful tour guide-lovely with our granddaughter as well as very knowledgeable and personable. She took us back in time and made us feel what it might have been like to be a part of the first Olympic crowds.
Elena was wonderful. She met us on time with tickets to the site. She pointed out all the major and minor sites and was very knowledgeable about each. She also gave us a wonderful overview of the history of the area as well as the politics of the time. I highly recommend touring the site with Elena. A bucket list experience not to be missed.
Elena gave us a deep dive into the history of the ancient Olympia and the Greek Olympic Games. She was very engaging and answered all of our questions. The 2 hour tour went by very quickly and we left amazed. We highly recommend booking with Elena!!!

Yesterday my husband and I took an Olympic Site Private Walking tour with Elena and we enjoyed it very much. First we settled all the details with her by texts and communication was very easy. The next day we met and she showed us the Archeological Site and the Museum. It was a wonderful, unforgettable experience, the best we've had in our 2 weeks in Greece. Her tour was interesting and informative, with some facts we would never be able to find in any books, she literally opened our eyes not only on Greek history, but how it affects the modern life and culture. I will highly recommend Elena to all our friends who are planning to visit Greece.
