22 miles to Mt Vernon round trip is strenuous if you’ve not been on a bike in a while; on returning the bike, they forgot to return my ID, but they went out of their way to return it to my hotel in the evening
I called mid afternoon to ask some questions about renting. They told me the store was open til 7, and I could keep a bike out til 6:30. So I popped over there and William helped me out. I was the only customer in at the time so I was probably peddling my bike within 10 minutes of getting there. I booked the 4 hour window and rode out to Mt Vernon and checked out the gift shop. Bike locks are in a bag on your bike and use of helmet is included in your rental. So you can stop wherever you want to go. I would rent from here again. Both William and his coworker were helpful and good to work with.
Pick up an Old Town. Alexandria, rode the 10 mi to George Washington's Mount Vernon, and came back. It's mainly uphill on the way to Mount Vernon, and it's mainly downhill on the way back (though a fairly easy trip both ways.). Would absolutely do it again 🙂
We had a great experience with Unlimited Biking in Alexandria,VA. They communicated precise information about our meeting place, were quickly available by text and phone for last minute details, and were clear in orienting us to the equipment, the process of locking and returning the bike we rented. The bike was a new Specialized Sirrus in perfect condition. Our point person, Sanjar, suggested routes from the departure point and gave us tips about the trail conditions to help us decide which route to take. He elevated our experience from great to excellent. I recommend this company and hope to rent from them in other locations i the future.
