INCREDIBLE. We went at the beginning of the season, on June 29, we didn't have much hope of being able to see turtles, but it was one of the best experiences of the whole trip. The guide, Luis, explained all the details of the turtle nesting to us and also how the guides' work functions to 100% respect the turtles. He showed great professionalism and great respect for his work. We saw 6 or 7 turtles, one of them had already laid its eggs and was camouflaging, we saw the nesting of another turtle. It was incredible, totally recommended. Thanks Luis!!

At night, we met with our Don Chico Tours guide for an exceptional adventure: watching sea turtles laying eggs on the beach! What we appreciated most about these experiences with Don Chico Tours was the guide's respect for the flora and fauna, nature in general, the fascinating explanations he shared with us, and the attention he provided to each participant. This combination creates a unique and authentic experience! Totally recommended!

Our guide Louis sent us a WhatsApp in the morning to let us know that the exact time the tour would start would be announced in the afternoon. Right on time, the message arrived with the necessary information (dark clothing, no electronic devices, etc.) and we arrived at the dock at 7 p.m. There were only 6 of us, and after a short wait, we were called onto the beach by a spotter. We were the first in line, and several other groups lined up behind us. While waiting, Louis told us many interesting facts about the turtles, especially the green sea turtle, which we were supposed to see today. You are not allowed to go to the turtle until it begins laying eggs so as not to disturb or drive it away beforehand. Unfortunately, "our" turtle abandoned both of the nests it had already dug and headed back to the sea without having accomplished its task. We were then able to observe her as she crawled across the beach and into the water in the lightning of distant thunderstorms. Magical! Luis then wasted no time and organized another observation for us at a different section of the beach where the turtle was just in the process of camouflaging her nest. Also a magnificent experience! Although several groups were standing around the animals, we had the feeling that great care was being taken not to disturb them too much. Many thanks to Luis who took very good care of us!

It is a unique experience that we enjoyed with our children. Luis taught us a lot about the process.

We were lucky enough to be able to witness all the phases of a turtle’s spawning: keep in mind that this is not always the case and no tour operator can guarantee that there will be a turtle that night. Still, "we gambled" (Luis had already warned us that maybe it wasn't the best time) and good thing! Luis took us to witness the spawning of a green turtle, we saw the whole process until we returned to the sea.It is very curious to see the whole context: go with red lights, silence and respect during the process, meet trackers, etc. If you are in Tortuguero, and the time coincides, do not hesitate!

If you are doubting whether or not to do the tour and with whom, DO NOT HESITATE. Incredible experience with the best guide we could have, Luis, attentive and accessible at all times. He helped us even with personal issues and was very willing. The tour is great, you see the turtle very close, but always with respect and without invading. We would repeat without a doubt.

Spectacular! We could see a turtle spawning! Our guide Julio, explained every detail, and did everything possible to make our experience fantastic, 100% recommended!!!

How special! Everything around it already. It is not obvious that you see them! I'm not going to give too much away. You have to experience it!
