This was an awful experience. I selected August 16th at 4:30 through the viator website. When the confirmation came back it was scheduled for August 14th which I was unable to make it. I reached out to viator and they told me there was no refunds. They could not adjust the date and nothing they could do so I didn't even get to experience it. I tried calling the phone number that was provided for the local operator and there is no option to speak with a person. It was just a bunch of automated systems regardless of what prompt so this was a horrible experience and about 160 bucks I wasn't even asking for a refund , I was just asking for the date that I actually selected
Nobody showed up. Instructions were poor. We had to take ourselves to the ferry and walked around. The experience was lovely but this is not tour - you are just buying ferry tickets.
Book through the official website. By the time the date was decided, the course to climb the Crown was already full. The course that climbs to the pedestal about two weeks ago is reserved at 10 o'clock with an opening. We arrived just after 9am, did security checks, and were able to get on board without having to wait until 10:00. When you go to the pedestal, put your large luggage in the coin locker. There was also an elevator on the pedestal. I'm happy to see the Statue of Liberty up close. The size is overwhelming.
This was a great experience. The ferry boat was a great ride. We were able to view the Liberty museum for free. I really enjoyed the entire experience.
I would give this experience a zero if I could since I did not attend. My flight was unexpectedly delayed 6 hours and we missed our tour. I spent 3+ hours on the phone with Viator trying to proactively reschedule my tour for another day I was in the city. Their customer service was a complete waste of time. They have no ability to work with or coordinate with any of the tour operators they are associated with and despite my extreme efforts, never was able to reschedule. They held strong on their cancellation policy and just kept reading off a screen with no resolution. Do not book anything ahead of time of time with Viator. I am out my entire payment. I Also tried to work with the tour operator myself but they can’t do anything when you book through a third party. I didn’t want to cancel, just reschedule due to circumstances out of my control. Their customer service was incapable of accomplishing anything and not sure why they even exist. So, unless you expect your day to go as planned with 110% certainty, do not book with Viator.
Visiting the Statue of Liberty was an unforgettable experience. Seeing this iconic landmark up close and learning about its history made the visit even more meaningful. It’s a must-see attraction for anyone visiting New York City.
Great experience with great views of the city. The museum was insightful and the gift shop was quite large. There is a small Cafe on the island for food but was a bit pricey.
The Statue of Liberty is easily one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks and a non-negotiable must-visit for any first-time traveler to New York City. To experience it, we booked a dedicated harbor cruise excursion, which is by far one of the most efficient and visually rewarding way. The excursion is a highly organized, roughly one hour loop traversing the historical waters of the Hudson River and Upper New York Bay. The ship cruises past the towering architecture of the Financial District and Wall Street, offering spectacular open water angles of the Manhattan skyline before swinging near the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and heading back. Midway through the cruise, the ship sails directly past Lady Liberty herself. Seeing her up close in person, a monument that feels intimately familiar from countless movies and photographs, is a genuinely moving experience. The immense history of the site isn't lost on you; it is powerful to look at the statue and imagine the millions of historic immigrants who sailed these exact waters, seeing this very lady as their ultimate symbol of hope and entry into the American Dream. While the steady cruise rhythm can feel a bit monotonous for adults after the main photo opportunity, the kids absolutely loved it simply because it was an exciting boat ride on the harbor. It is a classic bucket list experience, once is probably enough, but it is entirely worth doing. Pro Tip: Sitting out on the open-air top deck gives you completely unobstructed panoramic views, but you are entirely exposed to the elements. There is no shade or wind protection up there. If you choose this deck, apply heavy sunscreen and bring layers. Better yet, avoid the harsh overhead glare of a midday trip; booking a late afternoon cruise provides the absolute best soft lighting for family photos, a cooler breeze, and a much more comfortable overall climate.
Departure from Battery Park; despite having tickets already booked, the line to board is very long, over 1 hour of waiting, so try to arrive earlier than the time you booked; the boat reaches the Statue of Liberty in about 10 minutes of sailing, during which you can enjoy the view of the New York skyline, which always has its charm. Once you arrive at Liberty Island (this is the name of the island that houses the Statue of Liberty), it is possible to visit the museum, take a short tour of the island with various views of both New York and Jersey City, and obviously see the Statue of Liberty; it is possible to upgrade the basic ticket with a visit to both the pedestal and the climb inside the statue. On the return, the ferry also stops at Ellis Island, where it is possible to visit the National Museum of Immigration.
This was a really nice tour for the money that you pay. The guide was knowledgeable and I enjoyed seeing the sights If the Big Apple. I would definitely take this tour again
