I didn't book our timed-entry trip to Washington National Monument thirty days in advance, so I ended up purchasing tickets through a third party. It was our last day in DC, and I wish we could have seen the city from above on our first day out. However, seeing the city's layout and being able to point out all the places we had been was a great way to end our trip. We didn't pay for a guided tour, but it's hard not to hear what other people's guides are saying. Also, the National Park Service always has a Ranger or rep in close proximity who are usually able to answer any questions. In my opinion,it would have been a waste to spend money for a tour guide, but the views are spectacular and worth every penny I paid. Be wise and look for your FREE timed entry tickets through the NPS thirty days in advance of your trip.

Straight-forward and easy experience. Tkts arrive the day before after 3pm. Great views. Meeting place is at entrance to the monument.

If not having to sweat for daily tickets is your thing. It's worth the cost of a ticket. Buying the no charge + service fee is next to impossible. If you need a specific date and a favorable timed entry. Choose this option and pay for it.

I’m not sure if we could have done this cheaper by reserving tickets through the government but it was wonderful to have a no-wait time and get up into the monument!! What an experience!

It was super easy and flexible - we go there a little early and got in on that tour

This was a great experience. Easy to get to, got through security, and was 500 feet, looking through little windows minutes later. We spent around 30 minutes between taking pictures and looking at the exhibits. Definitely recommend doing this.

Amazing experience if in Washington you need to do this

I had problems obtaining a ticket through the recreation.gov website. Purchased easily through TripAdvisor. Received my tickets the day before and thoroughly enjoyed the views of the city. Certainly worth doing as something unique to the area.

It was an amazing experience with Viator. Just remember that they email you exactly 24 hours before the event to make sure you don’t lose your ticket information. It is a safety precaution and they are very accurate about the ticket information. I would use them again. This saves time.

I appreciated being able to get a verified ticket on short notice. However, the link to the ticket did not work. The issue was resolved after I reached out to Viator. And, this purchase referred to a ticket and Guidebook. I did not receive a Guidebook. But the view from the top of the monument was spectacular.
