We chose the Lemosho Route, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. The route is beautiful, quieter than some of the other routes, and the changing landscapes make every day feel completely different. From the beginning, the team at Wilderness Alternative Expeditions made us feel comfortable and well prepared. Everything was organised professionally, and our guides were knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely cared about our experience and safety. What made the trip especially memorable was the feeling of being part of a real expedition rather than simply going on a tour. The Lemosho Route takes you through beautiful forests, open moorlands, rocky landscapes and eventually the incredible alpine desert before reaching the summit. Every morning brought something new. The summit night was by far the hardest part, but having an experienced team beside us made such a difference. The encouragement from our guide kept us going when we were tired and questioning whether we could make it. Standing at Uhuru Peak and seeing the sunrise over Africa made every difficult step worth it. 🌄🏔️ The food, camping arrangements and overall organisation were also impressive. The crew worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. If you're considering climbing Kilimanjaro, I would highly recommend Wilderness Alternative Expeditions, and especially the Lemosho Route. I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with my girlfriend through Wilderness Alternative Expedition, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. You could feel the positive energy within the whole team, from the guides to the porters and everyone behind the scenes. They made us feel comfortable, supported and part of the team rather than just clients. Climbing Kilimanjaro as a couple was a really special experience for us, and having such a friendly and happy team around us made it even more memorable. Even on the tougher days, there was always someone encouraging us, checking on us or simply putting a smile on our faces. We did the Lemosho Route on Mount Kilimanjaro with Wilderness Alternative Expedition, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The organization was excellent, especially considering everything was coordinated from Nairobi, Kenya. Logistics, timing, and communication were all handled smoothly, which allowed us to focus fully on the trek itself without stress. The quality of the trek was very high. The Lemosho Route is stunning, quiet, and well paced, and the team managed the itinerary perfectly to support acclimatization. You could tell this was not their first time on the mountain. Food was consistently impressive. Proper, well prepared meals served daily, with good portions and variety. Even at higher altitudes, the food remained fresh and well thought out, which really helped with energy and morale. The guides were professional, experienced, and supportive. They paid close attention to everyone in the group, constantly checking how we were feeling and adjusting the pace when needed. Their calm confidence made a big difference on summit night. Overall, this was a high quality Kilimanjaro experience delivered by a well organized and caring team. It was lovely climbing with Kenny’s company. I’m not the best writer, but I’m sure you’ll love it! Our guides’ names were Baraka and Ali, and we took the Lemosho route for 7 days. The best part of the experience was definitely the food; the whole team was always excited for mealtime. Baraka seemed to know so much about the mountain, and I would definitely recommend Wilderness Alternative Expedition. Kenny, thank you for organizing such a fantastic trip.
