An excellent short bush walk with a Naturalist and a Ranger. Lots of interesting facts about animals who live in the area, birds and trees. Very professional, picked us up early from our hotel. Game drive back we saw antelopes and monitor lizards, as well as birds.
Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the bush walk with our Tour Guide and Ranger, and that the insights into the local wildlife, birds, and trees added to your adventure. Your kind words about our professionalism mean a lot to our team, and we truly appreciate your recommendation. We look forward to welcoming you again for more discoveries in the bush. Warm regards, Christopher
Really enjoyed our afternoon walk. Came from Zimbabwe and were easily met by our guide at the Zambia bridge border, after confirming the day before. Experience was a combination of riding in a 4x4 into the park and then a very informative walk, discussing plants, insects, birds and animals that we saw. Walk concluded with an up-close observation of two male rhinos. Great guide. Felt very comfortable with our teenagers, following the given guidance. Unforgettable experience.
Chiwele was an amazing tour guide! Took good care of us and was really engaged and excited. Amazing tour overall! 10/10.
We spontaneously booked a walking tour and everything went really well. The guide and the ranger were very good. They had a lot of knowledge and quickly led us to the rhinos. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience. We can only recommend this tour.
Vielen lieben Dank für das tolle Feedback.. Schön, dass sie dabei waren!
We had booked the walk early in the morning and wanted to be picked up at the border Zimbabwe to Zambia at 6:30. But the border only opened 30 minutes later (Africa just now), but despite the delay the guide waited for us - thank you very much for that. The walk then fulfilled all our expectations because it is simply something else to walk through the bush than always riding in a jeep. You are just much closer to nature and we have learned nice little things, such as rhinos always use a place for the toilet. We felt very safe and there are no predators in the park either. We then saw a group of 5 rhinos and a juvenile. The rhinos are guarded and that's a good thing. I can fully recommend this bushwalk. The guide was also very nice.
We really enjoyed this nature walk. The guide was knowledgeable and we loved the feeling of being the only ones in the park as it was early. We saw birds, antelope and Giraffe with the highlight being the rhinos.
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback
We were a group of 5 that got a great guided walk in the national park. Our guide showed us plants, trees, animal tracks, birds along the way. We saw zebras, giraffes, warthog etc and the grand finale was the white rhinos. Friendly and safe. All in all highly recommended!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! We are thrilled to hear that you and your group had a fantastic walking adventure in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. It's always a pleasure to guide nature enthusiasts like you through the park's beauty and wildlife.
Have done this place twice in July 2018 and May 2019 and i total loved the experience.. But off course the Safari Ride in July was better than May 2019 one. Should do this one. Saw some White Rhino too.
I was privileged enough to be staying in Livingstone for twelve days and to be able to join a walking tour of Mosi Oa Tunya with the incomparable Chiinga. First I’ll explain that as a person with degenerative disc disease, my back is often in pain and walking can be hard. This walk was around 3 hours and as there was a lady on the tour with a bad knee, we took it easier and were driven from one spot to another, so actual walking time was around 90 minutes and not over the toughest terrain; enough to feel the exercise, not enough to harm. This adaptive approach to the guests on any given day I later realised is a hallmark of Savannah’s work. The walk itself was beautiful; peaceful, impressive seeing dawn over the park, and scintillating because of Chiinga’s range of knowledge. Even Evans our bus driver knew so much about the local flora and fauna that he was educating us on the trees while Chiinga found a guard to accompany us. And when we began, I can honestly say that in all my years of foraging and hiking through the countryside in Europe and South America, I’ve never met anyone whose knowledge had such gentle command, depth and scope. I felt confident that I could track and distinguish between many of the Big Five tracks and scat after this one walk, that I knew how to respect the animals and to stay safe being so close to them, and that Chiinga knew how to manoeuvre through this space causing no damage but respecting and honouring this land he’d grown up in. From seeds on the ground to birds in the trees, there was no question we asked that wasn’t carefully and considerately answered. My highlight was seeing the family of five white rhino we’d tracked for an hour, and also how our accompanying guard stayed with us even when learning of his wife’s illness, until we got back to an outpost and he was relieved. The national park guards as well as Savannah are dedicated to the guests safety and experience and that was impressive to watch. I felt completely safe at all times. It came as a big shock to learn of Chiinga's demise yesterday in the park and yet I can’t help but think that if he had to go, it would have been there doing what he loved the best and what he dedicated his life to. And the knowledge that he trained his staff and fellow guides to his extremely high and loving standards means that Savannah will stay one of the premier tour guiding and birding companies in Livingstone. The legacy he leaves is testament to his incredibly likeable and engaging nature. I’m only sorry my children won’t be able to meet him on our return trip but I’m confident that those left behind will honour his memory and this amazing work, connecting us back to our roots and a love for nature that is so needed in these times. Thank you, Chiinga and Savannah Southern Safaris.
A thrilling experience walking and trekking rhinos. Guide was great with good explanation of tracking methods. Saw rhinos and wildebeest. Rangers are doing a great job protecting these endangered species. Good value and informative.
