We did the Cloud Forest Emerald route and had an amazing time! I highly recommend going with a guide or you won’t see most of the amazing creatures, especially the birds. Our guide, Dennis knew all the sounds and could track them down with an amazing sighting of a resplendent quetzal!

Dennis was absolutely outstanding. I just can't say enough how helpful, professional, friendly, and efficient he was. He could spot birds in places where other guides missed. He was also able to share tips with the other guides. Dennis has to be the beset there is. We wouldn't hesitate to use him again. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic tour, our guide Derniert was extremely knowledgeable about both the wildlife and vegetation. A very intimate tour, and we saw a Quetzal which was fantastic! Would highly recommend this tour. For the ticket you also need to book the "Heart of the Forest" ticket for the park.

Dennis was an informative and friendly guide. Helped us coordinate transportation from Tamarindo area, which was appreciated. Even gave us a ride back into town at our meeting point. Myself & two teens enjoyed our experience.

A lovely peaceful hike on the relatively easy Essencectrail with Olman. He was knowledgeable and able to find a number of birds for us with excellent photography assistance as well. Highly recommended

We had an incredible experience with Donald as our guide. He is INCREDIBLY knowledgeable. He had been telling us about the forest and mid-sentence heard the song of the resplendent quetzal, which he spotted immediately. He was skilled enough to find two quetzals in this tour, and multiple other rare birds in the cloud forest. He told us the history of the forest as well as the nature of the plants and animals living there. Incredible tour with an incredible tour guide.

Dennis is amazing! He was kind, humble, and so knowledgable about the area. It was rainy and not a lot of the animals were out in the area, BUT we did see a quetzal, some tarantulas, tons of other birds, an overly friendly coati-super cool. Amazing hanging bridge, small number on tour felt nicer than a large group.

If there is only one thing you do in Costa Rica, make it a tour with Dennis. Easily the highlight of our trip - so much so that we ended up cancelling other plans and spending a full, 16-hour day with him traveling through another area of CR. He is knowledgable, a skilled photographer, and an expert in Costa Rican wildlife. More than that, he was generous with his time (ex. allowing me to use his very fancy professional camera while he worked to fix mine, getting to the park very early in the morning to get us tickets, etc.) and personalized the experience to what we were hoping to see. This is my first TripAdvisor review and Dennis truly deserves it.

Dennis lead us on a fantastic tour of the cloud forest. He was by far the best tour guide we had in Costa Rica. Highly recommended.
