The birding path at Monserrate is a great experience- saw 9 hummingbird species (including a sword-billed) with a knowledgable guide, Diego. Keep a little flexibility on timing in mind- the path might be open later than anticipated.

I was picked up by a nice Colombian woman at the hotel. Then we took a taxi to Monserrate Mountain (no private vehicle is provided). The birdwatching trail is about 300m long and you can see many species of hummingbirds drinking nectar from the designated feeding stations. When I finished birdwatching, I was able to visit the church. This was very good, so you don't have to take the cable car up the mountain again. We walked back to the hotel, which was fine since it was only about a 10-minute walk downhill.

This was a great tour. Diego was a fantastic guide, and was key in us spotting two dozen different species of birds. He explained how the Andes geography created unique ecosystems and which species were endemic to the area. This is a wonderful way to spend a quiet few hours above the busy city. Highly recommend taking this tour!

Diego was fantastic! He knows so much about birds, but also the other plants and animals of Monserrate! It was a fantastic birding walk and we saw over 26 species of birds. I highly recommend this tour! Amazing birds, amazing scenery, and an amazing guide!

We had a lovely bird watching experience with our excellent guide, Diego! We chose a later time and it was a rainy morning, so we were a bit concerned about how many birds would be out, but during the walk, the rain stopped and we were able to see 21 different species with the help of Diego. We saw mostly hummingbirds, which is what we hoped for, and it was magical. Would highly recommend!

A very enjoyable couple of hours birdwatching. Nataly was a great guide - friendly and knowledgeable - which was particularly appreciated as I'm a rookie birdwatcher. I took a load of photos, and she kindly gave me the names for about 13 birds after the event. Be aware that about half the tour time is getting up to Monserrate and back again, but the journey was fun and the views over the city were great.

Geraldo was enthusiastic & knowledgeable about the hummingbirds & easily able to point them out. He was also kind by carrying my day pack, as I am older & have a recent knee injury.

Leslie was an amazing guide for our tour. She adapted her tour to all ages from 8 to 68, as well as for the different levels of bird enthusiasm. She helped us spot many different birds as well as guided us to beautiful view points. The pick up, drop off, and logistics were easy and smooth. Highly recommended as a family activity.

The trip up to Monserrate was great! Diego was incredibly knowledgeable and also incredibly patient with our slow-going group who wanted to look at EVERYTHING, not just birds. We all had a wonderful time and I would 100% recommend this tour. It's beautiful, you'll see a bunch of amazing species, and you'll have a great time with Diego.

Loved this experience! My guide picked me up at my hotel, we drove to the train and took it up the mountain. The guide, Diego, was super knowledgeable about the bird species and helped me find so many gems. We saw pavas, hummingbirds, flower piercers and warblers. I loved my experience and would definitely do it again.
