My sister and I spent our first day in Ecuador on this amazing bike tour, and it was such a wonderful welcome to the country! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and quickly tailored the tour to my interests (birds!), pointing out the variety of habitats we passed through then ending at a glorious reserve where dozens of species of hummingbirds of all shapes and sizes were feeding very close to our viewing point. To start, they drove us up to the top of the mountain west of Quito, then we rode (almost all downhill) about 25 miles on dirt roads, past majestic viewpoints and small villages. Best of all, midweek my sister and I were the only ones on the tour!. Highly recommended --- this turned out to be the highlight of an awesome trip!
