An Exceptional Tour of Marseille with Charles We had the most wonderful 4-hour walking tour of Marseille with Charles, and we couldn’t recommend him highly enough! Charles was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his city. He brought Marseille’s history and culture to life while taking us through both the old and newer parts of the city. We visited the beautiful Cathedral de la Major, explored the historic streets and then made our way up to the magnificent Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde, with its spectacular views over Marseille. What made the tour so special was Charles himself. He was friendly, engaging and genuinely interested in making sure we had a wonderful experience. Nothing felt rushed, and he was happy to answer all our questions and share his local knowledge. Four hours absolutely flew by! We saw so much more of Marseille than we would ever have discovered on our own, and we came away with a real appreciation and love for this fascinating city. If you are visiting Marseille, do yourself a favour and book a tour with Charles. He was fantastic and made our time in Marseille truly memorable. 🇫🇷❤️ Thank you, Charles, for such a wonderful day! We had a wonderful experience with Caroline as our guide in Marseille. She was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating facts and stories about the city and the areas we visited that really brought the history to life. On top of that, she was friendly and funny, which made the whole tour even more enjoyable. The places she took us to were fantastic — a great mix that gave us a real feel for Marseille. Highly recommend her if you're looking for a guide who combines expertise with a great personality!
Amazing tour brought to life by an excellent guide (Charles). We are so grateful for his time, knowledge of Marseille and patience to listen to and answer all questions thoroughly. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to be truly acquainted with such a great city.
My complaint is with TripAdvisor, not the operator, as the tour isn't happening for another two months. I selected the option to pay later, with my credit card to be charged 48 hours in advance with a 24-hour cancellation policy. Instead, the email confirmation indicates I've already been charged in full. There is no way to contact TripAdvisor customer service. The on-screen confirmation encouraged me to manage the trip in the App which I already had, so didn't need to install, but there is no record of the booking there.
Charles was phenomenal. He showed us so much of the city. There is a lot of walking on steep hills so be ready, but our family with Grandma (78) and kids (8 and 11) made it. Charles tailored the tour to what we wanted to learn about. I highly recommend this tour!
Charles is friendly, helpful and knowledgable. He shows his love for the city of Marseille. The walking itinerary is great because it covers a lot of history of Marseille. Make sure to bring a hat.

Our guide Charles was awesome. He took us all over Marseille and we learned a lot about the history and life in the city. It was a small group which made the experience even better. After the tour Charles sent us a list of places to eat which was very helpful. This is an active walking tour so expect to walk a lot, some stairs and hills. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience Marseille in a short time.
