amazing tour, Carlos was funny and knowledgeable,we had A LOT of delicious food and drinks, not just small bites, highly recommend 😌
Tour was fabulous, lots of cultural knowledge alongside a great ‘taste’ of the city. Don’t go hungry, the food is delicious and plentiful.
Tour was good but we want more flexible. Overall very good experience and food was very good . Wine was avarage
I thought the food tour was wonderful and Daniel was exceptional I would only say they need better wines and Port.
Guide was great! Good and drink was great!
Caterina was a very friendly and informative guide who hit all the highlights of Lisbon's food scene.
I’ve done several of these tours around the world and this was the best one I’ve ever done. Our guide Catarine was fantastic. Knowledgeable and personable. All of the local bar owners loved her too. There was a lot of food!
Katerina was so knowledgeable and did an excellent job. This was one of our favorites we’ve done and we’ve done them if every country we’ve visited
There was plenty of food and drinks during the tour and our guide gave us a good commentary about what we were having along the way. However, the best meal was at the end (when we were getting pretty full), and a couple of courses were nothing exceptional (bifana, which is more a take-away food, and some cheeses, which were lovely but we had in the middle of the tour). The highlights were the fish and shrimp with rice, salted cod croquettes and smokey chorizo. The stops seemed to backtrack (in walking) and we didn't get a dessert (surely the national specially, custard tart, should be included).
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the variety of food and drinks, as well as the commentary from our guide. Our tours are designed first and foremost as a gastronomic experience, rather than simply a meal. We carefully select each tasting to showcase a different side of Portuguese food culture, including traditional dishes, regional products and foods that are part of everyday Portuguese life. The aim is to give guests a broad and authentic experience of our gastronomy, rather than simply presenting a succession of “exceptional” dishes. We understand that the bifana was not a highlight for you. Nevertheless, it is a very Portuguese food experience and an important part of the gastronomic landscape we want to share with our guests. The same applies to the cheeses, which were selected to introduce the diversity of Portuguese regional products. Regarding the route, the stops are intentionally chosen according to the geography of the places we visit and their proximity to our meeting point. We could certainly create a more linear route by spreading the stops further across the city, but this would mean spending considerably more time walking between tastings. We prefer to keep the food stops relatively concentrated so that the experience remains centred on what matters most: the food, the stories behind it and the time spent enjoying it with the guide. If the route occasionally feels as though it is backtracking, this is therefore a deliberate choice rather than an oversight. As for the pastel de nata, we absolutely agree that it is one of Portugal’s most iconic pastries. However, it is also the Portuguese pastry that is most readily available throughout Lisbon, with pastéis de nata being found in bakeries and cafés practically everywhere. For that reason, we choose not to use one of the limited tasting opportunities on something our guests can very easily discover on their own. Instead, we use those opportunities to introduce them to products and specialities that offer a broader and more distinctive gastronomic discovery. Finally, we appreciate your comment about being quite full by the time you reached the final tasting. Our intention is precisely to offer a generous and varied tasting experience, rather than leaving guests feeling that they have only sampled a few small bites. By the final stop, guests will have experienced several different foods, flavours and traditions, so arriving there already feeling satisfied is, in many ways, a reflection of the abundance of the experience as a whole. Thank you again for sharing your perspective. Feedback like this helps us continue to refine the experience while remaining committed to our main objective: giving guests a genuine, varied and memorable introduction to Portuguese gastronomy.
We have done many food and wine tours over the years. This proved to be the best one we have ever done. The value for money was off the charts. The guide Daniel was amazing, his knowledge of Portugal, its people, culture and food was extensive. There was so many stops with delicious local food and drinks. While this was a walking tour we didn’t go more than a couple of blocks in any direction from our meeting place. We would highly recommend this tour.
