1940年のポルトガル万国博覧会のために建てられたこの庭園には、ポルトガル帝国の旧州を表す32の紋章が飾られている。
この記念碑は、ポルトガル航海の重要人物として知られるインファンテ・ドン・エンリケの死後 500 年を記念して 1960 年に建てられました。この記念碑には、ポルトガル文化の世界的な普及に貢献した大航海時代の他の重要人物も描かれています。

Federico was a fantastic tour guide. We were very glad we did this tour as we learned so much about the monastery and the monument as well as the history of Lisbon during the age of exploration through the 20th century dictatorship. Would strongly recommend this to anyone visiting the city (especially for the first time) as it gave me a much better understanding of the country’s rich history and culture.
Federico did a great job of showing us all of the sites and explaining why and how each one was made. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a great tour.

It was a wonderful experience. Miguel was a history buff who knows everything there is to know about what he was showing us. He did everything off the top of his head with no notes. The line for the monastery was very long. The cut-the-line benefit was huge. I would highly recommend this.
