Get away from the standard cruise tours and try something very special . This beautiful facility in an immaculate setting and the world famous Lipizzana horses . To spend such time close to these magnificent animals was a privilege.

A very interesting morning with a chance to view the horses and hear about the history of the farm. A small tour/drive with information about the area with our guide.

My husband and I enjoyed our private tour of the Lipica Stud Farm. The horses were stunningly beautiful; and because it was off season, we received a private tour of the facilities and were able to see quite a few of the stallions, including some of the current show horses. The driver was very engaging and the owner of the tour business met us off the ship. He was very nice and we could tell he wanted us to have a good experience. He asked the driver to call once the tour was over so that he could ask us about our experience afterward. I would use this tour company again in Slovenia. We, of course, would prefer to see the farm during the prime season as we would have been able to see a show. But November was when our cruise brought us to Koper.

My mother loves the Lipizzaner horses so I found this tour for the two of us to try as our shore excursion. Peter, the driver and owner of the tour company, communicated with us in advance to let us know where to meet him off of our cruise ship (it was incredibly easy to find him). On our journey to the farm he showed us the sights and told us some of the history as we passed. Upon arrival at the farm he made sure to purchase the tickets for us and he gave us a phone with which to call him when we were ready to be picked up. In advance, Peter also made sure to tell us that there was an English language tour at a certain time so he arranged our day so we wouldn't miss that specific time slot. The tour took us to the stables to visit the mares, the stallions and the studs. Afterwards there was an art gallery, souvenir shop and Lippizaner history museum to explore as well. On the property there's also a hotel and a casino but we didn't partake. There wasn't a show that day but if there had been it would have only been a few euros more to see the show on top of the tour ticket. When we were about an hour away from being ready we just gave Peter a call and he headed back to get us and we used our time to have lunch at the farm's cafe. Peter was very accommodating and offered to drive us to other interesting locations if we were interested but one event for the day was enough for us so he took us back to the port and our ship directly.
