Having done the North Island, we booked to do TUI South Tour. First was Timanfaya National Park - the first part where you can get out and watch the demonstrations was interesting, the next part on the coach listening to a pre-recorded audio was quite what we imagined. It was hard to see the colours through the coach's tinted windows (or take any good photos). Next stop was La Geria vineyard wine tasting - it felt rushed, no time for an ice cream before getting back on the coach. Then Charco de los Clicos which involved a walk up quite a shingly path (saw a couple of people fall). Impressive view, but again straight back on the coach. And finally to the Salinas De Janubio salt flats - this bit is interesting but it is hot & there is no shelter, there is a toilet and small shop but again our time here was very brief. We felt it was a little rushed - and as you are not allowed to eat or drink on the coach, maybe it would have been better to include a lunch / ice cream stop so it didn't feel so rushed. It is called a half day tour but leaving at 9 we got back a 3pm - name is a little misleading!
Hearing about the history of the island due to the volcano eruptions was very interesting and the views and the terrain were spectacular. I would definitely recommend 👍
A very entertaining excursion. Camel ride was well worth doing, but should be in with the €50 cost I think. Volcano tour and experiments were fun. Our hotel pick up wasn’t on the list, but we were dropped off there? Wine tasting was a surprise and nice. One more brief stop would have been good. Half a day on a coach was plenty.
So overall, of course, it's worth seeing with lots of interesting information. But when we arrived at the 1st stop at the dromedaries, our little one had to go to the bathroom (even though we were quite fast), there wasn't enough time left for a ride, and the disappointment was huge at first. The time is calculated very, very tightly—that's just how it is with children. Otherwise, you can't say anything negative, except that you just don't have much time at the stops and the price is quite steep. The bus driver and tour guide did a good job.
We had booked the tour language in English. The guide spoke slowly and repeated things every now and then. This way, we were able to follow along well even with rather modest language skills. Everything worked out great, the times were kept.
Excellent driver, very friendly guide, punctual and passionate about the history of his island, explanations in English and Spanish. Very beautiful tour, breathtaking landscapes, 4-hour tour quick for children and interesting with 3 stops: volcano, camels, vineyards. To be repeated!
Very nice experience, the guide was very helpful and explains everything well and clearly, the driver was very competent something you also see when you drive through the park, the camel trip is really recommended, the locals took good care of the animals
really informative and amazing experience! was raining when we went but that didn’t spoil it!
Nice short trip to see all of the park and demonstrations. Perfect amount of time. Guide Tony was brilliant
What an experience mind boggling and the scenery is out of this world for sure
