ロマネスク・ゴシック建築の典型である高さ45メートルの塔を眺めましょう。 石とレンガで建てられた塔は、ルッカを代表する有名なモニュメントの1つです。その主な特徴は、頂上にいくつかのホルムオークがあることです。 14世紀初頭、ルッカは現在よりもずっと狭い城壁の輪の中に、中世に街を豊かにした250以上の塔と数多くの鐘楼があったことを誇りにしていた。 今や都市の支配者となったグイーニジ家は、他の宮殿と共通の並木塔を持つ厳しい邸宅を、領主権の模擬塔の上に、再生の象徴となった塔で洗練させようとした。 頂上への到達は、25回の階段の飛行によって可能となる - 合計241段の階段 - 最初の部分ではかなり簡単だが、最後の部分ではあまり簡単ではなく、小さな金属製のスロープのおかげで登り続けることができる。 内部の壁に掛けられており、中世の生活の情景を描いた数多くの絵画を鑑賞することができる。
6世紀前半に建てられたこのロマネスク様式の教会に入り、3人の聖なるレヴィ人ヴィンチェンツォ、ステファノ、ロレンツォがこの場所に存在していた。 この最初の教会の建設は、560年から588年の間にルッカの司教に選出されたアイルランドの長老サン・フレディアーノ自身にまで遡ることができる。 現在のバシリカの下で行われた発掘調査で、古代の建物の存在が確認された。
ルッカの旧2世紀のローマ円形劇場であるこの広場を訪れます。 広場は中世に誕生し、この時代はラテン語のパラリシウム（円形劇場）を歪曲したパラッシオ（parlascio）と呼ばれ、トーク（talk）という言葉の影響で市民集会が行われた場所を指すようになったとされる。 塩倉庫、火薬庫、監獄など、さまざまな用途で使われ、次第に建物が埋め尽くされていった。

イタリア最大の洗礼堂を称賛するこの聖堂は、高さ54 m、直径34で、1152年から1363年にかけて建設された。 洗礼堂は、ピサの聖墳墓教会のような、同じ建築家による、柱の内部の円を覆うだけの奇妙な切り立った円錐形のドームを持っています（大きな半球形または多角形のドームの建設技術は、当時ほとんど知られていませんでした ） 。 ディオティサルヴィの計画は、外側の部分に岩のドーム（ソロモン神殿の廃墟に建てられたと考えられている）を、内側の部分に聖墳墓聖堂のアナスタシスを、どちらもエルサレムに建築的に引用することであった。 その後、ニコラとジョヴァンニ・ピサーノによって、バプテスト教会はロッジャと、ピラミッド型のものを隠す半球形のドーム（実質的にはドーム）でゴシック様式に修正された。

Fab excursion, Alessandro gave us loads of useful information about the places we were visiting. We loved Lucca, it is a lovely town. You can easily hire bikes (only 10 Euros an hour) to cycle round the city walls and through the town.
Our tour guide Kiyko was marvelous! He’s so personable and knowledgeable. The bus was quite comfortable (naps were likely had by all 😉), with a very safe driver. Lucca is a lovely town with many shops & restaurants. We ate at Kiyko’s favorite & were very glad we did. It’s amazing to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa in person! Numerous souvenir shops surround it with something for everyone. A MUST SEE TRIP!

The tour operator sucks. We were five minutes late due to ship shuttle and they left without us. No email, no text, no phone call, just gone. We have used Viator so many times and never had an experience like this. We called Viator and they defended the merchant. Poor business decision on the part of both.

Our tour was semi private with only 6 people. The ride was comfortable and the visit to Lucca and Pisa timely. However, it would have been nice to have more historic information. Kiyko did his best to provide as much information as possible and to answer our questions. He admitted that he was not qualified as a guide … The company should have assign a certified guide to our group or cancel the tour. Kiyko walked with us around Lucca and gave us background information in Pisa before we had free time to visit.
Two days before our tour, we received a text stating the original Pisa and Lucca tour was cancelled due to not enough people and offered Pisa only tour. Tour to Pisa was good but I wished that I would have booked through Royal Caribbean rather than Biator because RRC would not have cancelled their tour to Pisa and Lucca. Lesson learned, pay the extra cost if on a cruise ship to avoid cancellations.

This tour caters to cruise passengers. Our tour was late because they accomodated a last minute booking for 18 passengers from an incoming cruise. Our whole tour got rearranged at the last minute which affected my plans in the town I wanted to visit. We were switched out to another group twice during the day and we're expected to hang around for 2 extra hours just waiting for another bus to pick us up. We ended up leaving the tour and taking a train back on our own.

Really enjoyed to tour. Tour company is managing many tour options which makes it a bit confusing but everything worked out as planned. We enjoyed Lucca (although decided to walk on our own vs. the pace of the guided walking tour). Pisa was a great stop and enjoyed the opportunity to climb the tower. Communication was good as we joined another tour for trip back to ship.

The tour would have been great Unfortunately our tour guide took a wrong turning back to the coach and we had to walk 40 minutes in over 100 degrees of heat It was totally unacceptable , she never even checked on people , she marched on and left Us all trailing behind , some people were completely flagging and around 1/2 mile behind . It could have been disastrous She walked us up gravel banks and down a steep path . She apologised , and said she’s only been to Lucca twice . It was the fact that she never checked on anyone , in a heatwave that made it worse It ruined the rest of the day and we never got to see Pisa as my mum felt too ill Others stayed on the coach
