Mt Wellington
Mt Wellington was good, I visited on a day where there was fog, so it was good to experience the view when the fog lifted.Christian the bus driver was wonderful trying to make it a fun trip.

Wouldn’t do it again
Sorry, have to give a f thumbs down. 4 of us booked, as Tassie locals, to do something a little different. One of us is frail and cannot walk very far. Booked and paid and confirmed that we could get on, and get back off at the Casino, but when we boarded, the driver said there wasnt seating available and there were already a few standing. We managed to secure a seat for our 84 yr old. Off to Cascade for lunch in the sun, and only able to get the bus again at 1.40, straight to the botanical gardens for a coffee and back on the bus at 3.15. We were told back at the Information centre in Davey Street that the bus didnt go back to the casino.!! Had to book a cab .. only to be told half hr later that there wasnt seating available any taxis available! We eventually hailed down a passing cab. NOT good that between the 4 of us, we'd paid $180 for a very brief journey, not enough seats, the vehicle motor noise was too loud to hear the commentary, and a very stressful ending.
Maybe a tourist is happy with that, but as locals, we just think, "what a rip off"

Our hop-on hop-off service operates on a set loop with designated stops, including the Casino, and a published timetable and guidebook are provided to help guests plan their day. To return to certain stops later in the day, it is important to rejoin the service at the appropriate departure time from the Tasmanian Travel & Information Centre, and we’re sorry if there was any confusion around this.
As with this style of service, seating is subject to availability at the time of boarding.
We’re also sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced arranging a taxi following your tour. While this is outside of our service, we understand it would have added to the frustration of the day.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the commentary and will take this on board. While we’re sorry your experience did not reflect this, we do aim to provide a reliable and flexible way for visitors to explore Hobart.

Nice trip marred by prattle from driver
Nice trip. Great view. Driver Tony seemed competent and co-ordinated skilfully with other traffic on a steep and narrow route. Positive experience much lessened, however, by driver’s commentary. Too much. Too many Christmas Cracker-standard puns, too much juvenile talk about the laddish joys of drinking alcohol. Too much talk altogether.

Check the time of the Mount Wellington tour. The tour was good but the bus was cramped. Drivers were good and very knowledgeable.

Not Bad
Mount Wellington fantastic, for me a little longer preferred. Cascades and botanical gardens enjoyable BUT trying to find some bus stops HARD, you waste time miss a bus and need to wait an hour and then last bus from Tourist centre 3pm, frustrating (I am sure stop M does not exist). A good way to get around without a car

kunanyi/Mount Wellington tour
I celebrated my birthday by going on a kunanyi/Mount Wellington tour with Red Decker. Had the best time. Lots of laughter was had. Paul the tour/bus driver was so welcoming, informative, had a great sense of humour, as well as a very safe driver - no way would I be driving up and down that narrow mountain road. Although the weather wasn't the best, we were fortunate to still be able to see spectacular views of Hobart and surrounding areas from the top of the mountain. Even a rainbow appeared in the sky. Highly recommend this tour and the Red Decker company.

Great way to see the sights in Hobart
We did the combo package to see Mt. Wellington and the Red Decker…a great way to see the highlights of Hobart. We learned from the driver about the rivulet and were fortunate to see platypus as well!

Hobart highlights
To start the tour, we drove up to mt Wellington in a small bus with Suzie as our driver. What a funny and lovely lady!
As it was quite foggy that morning, the views from the peak were not great but that didn't kill the fun.
Afterwards, we hopped onto the open bus for a city tour which has about 20 stops.

Mt Wellington and Hobart City loop
Both were super interesting and quite spectacular esp with the very favourable weather conditions. Greg was tops for the Mt Wello tour, really informative commentary throughout. Tony was likewise for the city loop - very educational the whole way around. Absolutely recommend for anyone visiting Hobart - great value add for the ticket price. Won't disappoint across all demographics.
