The tour is a great way to see most of the island. We traveled along the beautiful coast line and then through some valley areas to reach the gorge. We then hiked down to waterfall. We recommend that you bring water shoes as you walk over rock to get to first waterfall. Also be prepared for the water temperature, as it similar to the Mediterranean Sea. After returning from waterfalls, we had a great traditional Greek lunch at a family restaurant. We looked over the sea from high up on hill, an amazing view. Good day for all

Our tour guide Dimitris was AMAZING! Courteous, informative, fun, adaptable since the gorge was actually closed that day unbeknownst to him. The beaches were gorgeous and the taverna for lunch was delicious authentic small village Greek food! We loved learning of the Crete culture from Dimitris, a must do for everyone!!

Absolutely our favorite day on Crete. Dimitri was a superb guide who took care of our every need. The taverna lunch was beyond delicious! The entire day exceeded my expectations.

We very much enjoyed our tour with George around Crete visiting the Kourtaliotiko Gorge and Preveli Beach. George was a very informative and caring host who shared a great deal of knowledge about Crete with us. He was easy to communicate with before our trip to arrange meeting time and location and answered all our questions. George was accommodating, letting us decide how long to spend in each location and his van was very comfortable for the drive. Our highlight of the day was swimming at Preveli Beach - a gorgeous beach with great views, followed by a delicious lunch at Taverna Dionyssos. The staff were friendly and showed us the kitchen and meals available. The food was excellent, view stunning - the best meal we’ve had in Greece so far! A great way to see the south side of the island.

My husband and I booked this private excursion during our honeymoon in Crete, and it ended up being one of our favorite days of the entire trip. From the moment we were picked up at Seaside Resort in Agia Pelagia, everything felt effortless and thoughtfully planned. George communicated every detail clearly ahead of time, and Dimitris made the day feel relaxed, personal, and unforgettable. Driving across Crete gave us such a unique perspective of the island beyond the resorts. We loved hearing about the history, traditions, and local life while taking in the incredible scenery. Our stop in Armenoi was peaceful and authentic—we enjoyed coffee beneath the beautiful plane trees and got to experience a quieter side of Crete. Kourtaliotiko Gorge was absolutely breathtaking. The dramatic cliffs and landscapes looked unreal and became one of our favorite photo spots of the trip. Preveli Beach completely exceeded our expectations. Swimming in the crystal-clear water surrounded by palm trees and seeing the river meet the sea felt like something out of a postcard. We had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the area without feeling rushed. Lunch at Taverna Dionyssos was the perfect ending to the day. The views over the Libyan Sea were unforgettable, and sharing local food together there made for such a special honeymoon memory. If you’re visiting Crete and want to experience nature, authentic villages, incredible views, and a more personal side of the island, we highly recommend this tour. This was the one experience that I booked and looked forward to the most. It did not disappoint. Dimitri was very kind. We had a great meal for lunch and topped off the day with a trip to Kalypso beach. I highly recommend this trip.

Our day began with a warm good morning at Lidl Atsipopoulo. From there, we set off across the Prefecture of Rethymno, enjoying the changing landscapes of western Crete while discovering more about the island and its traditions. Our first stop was the traditional village of Armenoi, where we enjoyed a relaxing Greek coffee and experienced a small part of everyday Cretan life. Continuing south, we reached the magnificent Kourtaliotiko Gorge. Here, we spent about an hour exploring one of Crete's most spectacular natural wonders, surrounded by towering cliffs, flowing springs, and breathtaking scenery. Next, we continued to the dramatic coastline of Kalypso, where we spent an hour enjoying this unique fjord-like landscape, famous for its crystal-clear waters, steep cliffs, and hidden coves. From there, we made our way to Preveli Beach, where we had approximately two hours to swim, relax, and explore this remarkable setting where the palm forest meets the Cretan Sea. Afterward, we followed the rugged southern coastline to Agia Fotia, where we enjoyed a delicious seaside lunch overlooking the crystal-clear waters of southern Crete. For our return journey, we chose a scenic route through the heart of the island, passing traditional villages, mountain landscapes, and ever-changing views before arriving back at Atsipopoulo . By making this great circle across Crete, we experienced some of the island's most diverse scenery—from dramatic gorges and hidden coves to palm-fringed beaches, authentic villages, and spectacular coastal landscapes.
