WONDERFUL! This was a last minute “add” to our itinerary so we chose the self-guided audio. The system worked perfectly - we downloaded the app & file prior to Knossos Palace arrival. (we had a horrible experience with another audio/company despite preparing everything well in advance). The audio clearly walked us through designated stops with audible directions and matching location pictures. The audio was very informative and the male voice engaging. As this is audio only, I recommend purchasing Palace entrance tickets via Hellenic Heritage website so you can quickly enter (& by-pass the crazy ticket line in the summer heat). HIGHLY recommend!!!

The audio tour contains many interesting facts that provide a good knowledge base about Knossos beyond the information boards. The included directions were not always clear to us. We would have appreciated the option for accelerated playback. The pronunciation of the content was clear and at a moderate pace. The experience is still highly recommendable!

Knossos is a very interesting piece of history and such a big area that has been excavated. The audio tour was only a bit helpful as we found the directions between it and the lack of signage difficult to follow. The basic history from the audio tour was very interesting and it provided a lot of deeper analysis of the different areas - we sometimes chose to skip some of the deeper analysis and commentary.

Unfortunately I bought online, for two tickets, arrived at the Palace, were not valid, lucky that I had made the payment with paypal, moral I had to buy a second ticket because with the fee of 23 euros I only covered one ticket, so I paid 3 euros commission, I queued and I did not have the guide on my mobile phone. Bad experience

Self guided walking tour with audio guide. Followed the instructions in the email that I received after I purchased the audio tour and downloaded the app from the tour company. Had to create user ID and password to log into the app and locate the audio recording. Downloaded the audio tour to the app to use offline in case the Knosos palace archaeological site had weak cellular signal. Handling the technology aspects was a little bit challenging but I figured it out. I had to go into a nearby cafe and use their WiFi to do the download. I recommend doing this in advance before leaving your home or hotel to ensure everything downloads and is functioning before you arrive at the archaeological site. The audio guide was very clear and easy to understand. There was a digital map included and the audio guide provided instructions when to walk and when to stop to listen, and it was easy to follow the locations on the digital map walking between the numbered locations that were included in the tour. The audio tour was great and was a better experience than touring the site with a live person as a guide.

This was an interesting tour and a great way to tour Knossos at your own pace and on your own schedule. The only feedback I have is that the directions are a little confusing and could be improved.

The narrative was not extremely in depth, but it was as descriptive as need be. Better than some guided tours. Directions around map can be confusing.

Impressive archaeological site, but unfortunately only poorly refurbished. You could get a lot more out of this. No audio guide available in German.

For a self-guided audio tour, which is much cheaper and simpler than a live guide, this one has its highlights. While the map was difficult to follow, the stories and insights into the Knossos Palace life was worth the price.

Great content, but audio guides should be available the instant you book. Had to book for a future date and then call the company for the access code. Since everything is digital, you should be able to book and get instantly like everything else. Content was really interesting aside from not knowing exactly where to go on site - more general info with some surprising facts about how advanced they were 4000+ years ago!
