Superb experience! 🇱🇰✨ We started by going to the Kandy market with our teacher, before participating in a Sri Lankan cooking class. A top-notch experience! We learned how to prepare several traditional Sri Lankan dishes, each more delicious than the last. 😋 A great time, both friendly, authentic, and enriching! Wow!!! This was one of the highlights of our two week tour of Sri Lanka!! What a wonderful experience ! The setting was perfect, the help and guidance from Shyama were superb and the end result was absolutely delicious (even though I say so myself!). If you get the chance to do this, grab it as we highly highly recommend this authentic, warm and educational experience!
What a great experience all round - a lovely surprise really! Wasu is an entertaining and informative guide at the local market where you get to experience all the sights and sounds while choosing ingredients for the meal ahead. Then there is the twisting turning road to the house and down the back, through the garden to the outside kitchen where Sharma works her magic with her homestyle cooking class. Easy, entertaining, informative and delicious.
I was taught Sri Lankan cuisine in a kitchen in nature. The cooking process is simple, and we made 7 colors and rice. They were all very delicious!
Both Udaya and Shyama were excellent. Very patient with our lack of knowledge about Sri Lankan food and cooking. We would thoroughly recommend this experience.

This was the most enjoyable experience of our trip. We had a hands on cooking lesson and then enjoyed all the curries we made. Dessert was delicious pancakes filled with caramelised coconut. The family was very hospitable and sent a link for the recipes. Highly recommended.
We started the experience with a tour of the food market to select the vegetables to cook and we was made to feel so welcome by our hosts. It was a really great experience to learn about the different vegetables of Sri Lanka and be made to feel like a local! Once we arrived back to the family home, everything was well prepped for us to start cooking. We learnt about so many different foods and couldn’t finish the meal as there was so much food! It was a really great experience from start to finish and one of the many highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka, thank you!
We had an amazing experience with the family! We started at the local market, where we could choose our own vegetables, while everything else had already been prepared. I found this very relaxing, as we could focus entirely on the cooking rather than the preparations. From very informative stories about how food is prepared in Sri Lanka and which spices are used, to watching everything come together into delicious dishes and, of course, enjoying our own creations. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone travelling through Sri Lanka who is looking for something unique and wants to experience the local culture through food.
