We had an amazing day touring Kandy with Laka. He picked us up from our hotel and made the entire day enjoyable, informative, and stress-free despite the busy Kandy traffic. Laka shared fascinating details about the history and culture of every place we visited, including temples, bridges, rivers, a tea factory, gem factories, and an Ayurvedic centre. He was incredibly knowledgeable and even explained the stories and significance behind the beautiful pictures and artwork inside the temples. What we appreciated most were his helpful local tips — from finding the best bargains and exchanging money to recommending bakeries for a quick snack and giving us advice when shopping for gems. Laka was friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely wanted us to have the best experience possible. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great guide for a Kandy tour!

Thanks to Sajim for this exceptional day. We had an excellent time and are very happy to have been able to discover the city of Kandy in its entirety and to have been able to understand its history. Sajim has perfect English and a sense of humor that made us have a very good time even outside of the tours. Thanks again for that, the day went by very quickly and we are leaving Kandy with a huge amount of memories! Thank you also for helping us discover local, more typical things. Sajim made sure to have us experience things that were worth their price. And when I mentioned wanting to taste mangosteen, it became a mission and we ended up finding some, and at a good price thanks to Sajim! I promise Sajim I will try durian one day..😂

I can recommend the city tour in Kandy with Laka to everyone; we were out for 6 hours today and saw a lot of the city that we would have surely missed otherwise! Laka is a very pleasant and accommodating person who entertained us all day with fun facts and knowledge about the city and its traditions. All in all, 10/10; I would recommend it anytime! If we had had one more day, we surely would have done the tour to Sigiriya as well!
Excellent service, we decided to do the tour spontaneously and the tuk tuk arrived to pick us up in less than 10 minutes, put us together a tour according to our time availability
Lake was sunny and friendly and the tour was most enjoyable. Great value for money. Well worth doing if you want to see the highlights of Kandy in a limited time.
Laka was the most amazing host for our tut tut tour of Kandy. We visited so many places. Temples, botanical gardens, wood carving factory, spice plantation, war cemetry, and tea factory where we tasted delicous teas. We also visited the jewellry store where we learnt how the precious gem stones are mined. Nothing was too much trouble for Laka who also took me to the optician to see if they could mend my broken spectacles...which they did. The botanical gardens are stunning and well worth a longer visit if you have time. We would hightly recommend Laka, a well travelled local guide who speaks excellent english and whos knowlegee of budhism and the local area is outstanding.
My driver Ishan was lovely! I was on my own, and felt looked after by Ishan. He was very accommodating, as I only had limited time and had to skip some parts. The tour itself is a good way to see Kandy highlights. The gem ‘museum’ and tea factory are both shops that strongly encourage you buy things (the tea was very expensive!). Ishan took me to some lesser known Buddhist sites, which were a nice bonus and the Botanical Gardens were the highlight for me. If you are short on time like I was, this is great way to see the highlights.
