カタンガ・スラム（Katanga Slum）はウガンダのカンパラにあるマケレレ大学とワンデゲヤの間にある低所得の非公式集落である。 学生、低賃金所得者、家族など数千人が暮らしており、清潔な水、衛生、保健サービスへのアクセスが制限され、混雑した環境で生活している。 こうした課題にもかかわらず、カタンガは回復力と活動のハブであり、小規模企業、非公式市場、そして強いコミュニティ精神があります。 また、都市の貧困、住宅、社会開発に焦点を当てたNGOや研究者からも注目されている。

Absolutely fantastic visit!! I learned a tremendous amount, the guide took the time to answer each of my questions about the country and Kampala. We talked a lot, he showed me great places that I would never have gone to alone, and he helped me take a boda boda for the return and negotiated the price for me. I highly recommend the visit to everyone; it is the best walking tour I have done so far.

Did this city tour solo (guided by Sudais) and it was honestly one of the best parts of my trip. Sudais was hilarious, super knowledgeable and made every stop feel fun and effortless. We covered all the key spots, but it never felt rushed, the 4 hours flew by like 30 minutes. The vibe was relaxed, and perfect for actually enjoying each place. Also, he’s a great photographer (ladies, iykyk 😉), so I left with solid memories and content. If you’re booking, ask for Sudais!

The guide was well informed and well aware about the world, the political situation in various continents. We had some great chats about it. Enjoy the tour and the walk around the city. We booked the longer tour and paid extra. However still the same numbers if stops and could easily be done on the shorter 2hr tour. And it's cheaper, so the longer tour does not represent a good value for money.
