Organised guide who was informative and considerate. An interesting trip with lots of background information.

Our guide, Roger a historian, collected us from our hotel on time and in a smart vehicle. We visited interesting places and were able to have good conversations. All very satisfactory.

Our guide Kimberley Wright had impressive knowledge and transfered her passion for the topic to us. Everything was smooth going between the sights.

A memorable, moving, and very informative experience, while also being enjoyable and relaxed. Roger was incredibly knowledgable and personable. He brought the topic to life for us with respect and relatability, and his passion for world war 1 and helping others to understand was clear. I would recommend Roger’s tour to anyone, he adapted for each member of the party, we were a group from three different countries and he made links for all of us to be able to relate to the events and meaning. A very knowledgeable guide. He explains everything that you are seeing at the various sights and provides a well-rounded historical context. He drives you to each site, talks about the importance of each and then provides you with time to experience it on your own. He will also pick you up at the beginning of the tour and drop you off at the end of the tour at the place of your choosing within Ypres. High quality tour; would absolutely recommend!!

We were a group of 6 friends who took Roger’s half day tour, sharing with 2 others. He arrived bang on time in a very modern and comfortable minibus. Roger is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. His route provided an excellent overview of the Ypres Salient and set the scene for the rest of our week here. He’s very open to debate and answered all of our questions thoroughly. He’s possibly the best tour guide that I have experienced and I’m so glad that we took his tour on our first day.

Very interesting tour with Roger that is well versed in the region history, not just what is included in the tour. Communication was clear and pick-up was easy, small group for maximum engagement. 10/10

An excellent tour with a very knowledgeable guide. Roger was very friendly and has a real passion for his subject. Nice variety of locations covering many topics about the battles in Flanders. Also the length is just right to see enough but have time to enjoy the rest of your day. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a battlefield tour from Ypres. It starts from the station so arriving by train is easy or by car, there is lots of free parking too.
