We are beyond happy we picked this experience with Horse’s Paradise. Brian, our guide, was wonderful and very accommodating to our minimal understanding of Spanish. He shared not only his knowledge of the area, the plants, the animals, but also his deep love, respect, and compassion for the horses he cares for. Brian brought us up and down the beach, then into the jungle where we went up the mountain to a beautiful overlook. His attention to detail (dogs, children, beach goers, rocks, trees, vines, etc) made this a very safe and comfortable ride, even with limited experience with horses in this way. Along the way back, we trekked on very narrow trails around the vines, roots, insects, and mud. Sights you’d never be able to see any other way. This experience allowed us to truly understand a horse’s ability and how important it is to have confidence when you’re atop a four foot tall, four footed being. The horses are well cared for, skillfully worked, and as free as possible at this Costa Rican ranch. Bonus! Brian recommended a spot for us to watch the sunset, as the horseback ride ended right before the sun went down. It was an amazing viewpoint of both Samara and Carrillo Beaches. A magical place and time — we could’ve spent hours admiring the view!

We (couple) did a 2.5 beach + jungle horseback riding tour with Horse Paradise. Our guide was Alex and we had a magical time. It was only us three and the beach and jungle were pretty much empty during our tour. He was very very knowledgeable about different wildlife and plants; we got to see howler monkeys, try wild mango, learn about different species, etc. Overall we found it a great value at 28,000crc/person. This included a taxi which picked us up from our hotel and the tour ended in the middle of Samara so we were able to walk home after. The tour also included a light sneak and beverage. What I loved most is that we also got to go through local neighbourhoods and the tour felt very authentic.

It was a TOP experience. For me it was the first time I was on a horse but the supervisors reassured me. The ride went first through the forest and then on the beach. We had some fear of the heat beforehand but that was not so bad because of shelter of the trees.

Incredible experience Rene loves her horses deeply and takes care of them, He knows the area by heart He knows how to adapt to the needs of everyone, in addition to a magnificent walk with sunset it is the opportunity to meet a beautiful person

It was amazing, we didn’t go twice, the fluids were excellent, and the horses were very well trained.

It was a great experience. It was our first time horseriding and the experience was smooth and easy. Great scenery and have learned lots about trees of the jungles in Samara, trees and animals. Thank you!

Our first time in Samara, we are aged 40 to 86. My father hadn’t been on a horse in 40 years. About an hour my father had get off his horse. There were two people with the company, both were extremely patient with my father and arranged for him to go back to base and we carried on. We did two long walks on the beach and the. a long trek in the jungle along a river, absolutely luved it and cool experience, highly recommend. I test them a couple of times prior and quick responses both times.

A wonderful highlight of our trip to Guanacaste! Our guides were so kind and friendly, and also reassuring. I did not have any horse experience so I was nervous but the horses were very calm and peaceful and I soon relaxed. Our guides were also very skilled and experienced so it doesn't matter if you are nervous on a horse because they have everything under control. We felt very well-taken care of, with bottled water, juice and delicious pineapple provided for us. Eating sweet pineapple on a horse in the jungle was a wonderful rare experience!
