Comprehension four hour tour. Small group vehicle excellent with driver and tour guide Tour guide very friendly and knowledgeable
Our guide and driver were wonderful. We saw the highlights of Helsinki just as promised. Recommended.
The areas and sights were good but our tour guide was not very talkative and the AC in our van was broken and it was a warm and humid day so those conditions were very uncomfortable.
Thank you for your feedback. Tastes differ, and we understand that in the US you may use different transport. However, in the EU, Mercedes-Benz vans are among the leading vehicles, known for their high quality and widely used for private and small-group transportation. All our vans are modern, and the air conditioning works perfectly, not to mention that the temperature has remained around 17°C outside for the last two weeks. 😊 Safe travels.
An absolute terrible and disappointing adventure. The tour van used for a 4 hour tour had BROKEN air conditioning and windows that did not open! It was so miserable, we opted to leave the tour early and find our own transportation back! On top of the van issue, the guide was not exciting or engaging with any of us.

Please note that you booked a standard small-group tour, which has never been advertised as a private tour. 2. Private tours are clearly labeled as “PRIVATE” right in the title and cost at least twice as much. 3. In Finland, there is no old transport except for retro collection items, which we do not use for sightseeing tours. The air conditioning was working perfectly in the modern Mercedes-Benz van that we used. When booking future activities with Viator, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the tour description rather than on personal assumptions. Safe travels!
DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR. Spend your money elsewhere. Nothing is open. Stopped and picked up a friend mid tour. Got hardly any time to eat.

However, even if you post all your feedback in capital letters, it will not stop our tours from departing daily from May until October and serving thousands of cruise passengers each cruise season. Let me address the concerns raised: Most places in Finland are closed on Sundays, but this does not affect the tour, as no admission fees are included. We are free to pick up team members along the tour route without any special permission from demanding guests. We understand that for some cruise passengers it may not be easy to spend four hours without food, but lunch has never been included in this tour. When booking future activities with Tripadvisor, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the tour description and inclusions rather than on personal assumptions. Safe travels!
The guide was 45 minutes late. the itinerary included a tour of the Olympic Stadium...we looked at it from the parking lot. It also included a visit to the parliament building. We just drove by it. We were told we would have free time at a local market. The opening time of the market was after we left the area. The rock church was interesting for the 5 minutes we were allowed to go into it.

If you prefer not to wait for fellow cruise passengers disembarking, we recommend arriving closer to the official tour start time or considering a private tour rather than a shared one. The “Additional Information” section of the tour description also clearly states that the sequence of the tour itinerary and the time spent at each location may be adjusted due to variables such as traffic conditions, crowd sizes, and unforeseen events. However, we always do our best to cover all the sites mentioned in the itinerary. Please also note that there are no admission tickets included in this tour, as the tour duration is limited by the cruise ship visit timeframe. The tour started an hour after the time printed on the ticket, but finished on time. Consequently, each stop was truncated. Although the ticket identified several stops included free admission, the only attraction entered was the library. Some stops, for example, Parliament, we drove by and our guide pointed out but we did not even stop. Narration by the guide was brief concerning the city or it's history. Most stops were 15 to 20 minutes.

We had a terrible experience with this tour company. I use Viator all the time, but this tour provider has terrible communication. We got to the meeting spot 10 minutes early and couldn’t find anyone with a “Helsinki Gems” sign. Evidently they had some code word “JAT” that we were supposed to know to look for on a sign. We never got a message to look for such sign. We missed the excursion even-though we were standing RiGHT THERE ! We even got on the bus and asked if this was the “Helsinki Gems” tour and the bus driver said “I don’t know the name of the excursion. I just drive the bus.” We called Viator and they could not reach the tour provider to try to help us connect with them. Then we started calling the tour provider ourselves and we could not reach them either. I contacted the tour provider later in the afternoon when I could get a wifi signal to message them on the app, and I still have no answer from them. Viator is denying our request for a refund because the tour provider says we didn’t show. We were standing right next to the bus yet had no way of knowing the person holding a “JAT” sign was our tour. Very frustrating and disappointed in this tour company and Viator who won’t take care of a long time customer . I’ll think twice before I book Viator again.

The entire group on the bus waited for an additional 12 minutes while our tour coordinators searched for you with clearly visible J.A.T. signs and our customer care team attempted to reach you using the phone number provided at the time of booking. 4. Unfortunately, we were unable to wait any longer, as your fellow cruisers had very limited time ashore and did not wish to lose more of it. 5. We successfully collected more than one hundred of your fellow cruisers, with only your party missing. 6. Since each of the facts mentioned above can be verified, your refund request has been respectfully declined in full accordance with Viator’s cancellation policy, which does not provide compensation in no-show cases. When booking future activities with Viator, we strongly recommend paying close attention to the Meeting and Pickup section or at least keeping your travel phone accessible during the pickup period. The 3 hour tour was fast paced and rigid on time stops. At a minimum, it should be 4 hours as billed. Not suitable for the elderly or those with mobility issues.
