Met tour guide right outside the main entrance. He contacted us using WhatsApp and easily shared his location with us so we had no difficulty meeting up. Once within Carcasonne, we were given a personal and 1:1 tour experience. Seeing how everyone around us was walking around we were very happy to have an expert guide. He even took us to new Carcasonne which typical tourists dont see on their own. Would recommend!

Gert is a outstanding guide. He has extensive knowledge of the Cite and it’s history. Very knowledgible of the the local Area. An extremely pleasent personality. There is no walking the Rampart (Castle Walls) with this tour. Don’t worry about that as the tour around the Cite at base level is very educational. You can do it later for 19 Euros. Gert also walked us across a historical bridge to the other city center. We were so glad we went there too. If not for Gert and going there, we would have just stayed in the Medievel Cite area. Just be prepared to do some walking both up and down some inclines. I highly recommend this Tour.

Excellent tour of Carcassonne's medieval and "new" towns from Gert! We enjoyed all of the historical facts and information about both cities. He also sent confirmation texts via Whatsapp before the tour and made recommendations during the tour. Gert's English was great and he is super kind! Overall a very enjoyable and insightful tour! Would highly recommend to those wishing to partake in a Carcassonne tour! Other details: We paid ~475 USD via Viator total for our private tour of 4 people. The tour was just over 2 hours long starting in the medieval town and ending in the "new town" in a great place to have a local meal.

Overall, Remi did a very good job, showing us the town and spend a lot of time explaining the history of the walls, fortress, etc. We enjoyed the tour and would recommend it with the only caveat being that it was not two hours as advertised. He pretty much finished after an hour and a half, and then said that he would add an extra short visit to the historic hotel. That stretched it to about an hour and 45 minutes, but still short of the promised time .

We had a 2 hour private tour with Remi who was very knowledgeable & friendly. Although the tour was supposed to end in the new town we agreed to stay in the old city & the time flew by. Would highly recommend this tour.

Tour guide Gert was knowledgeable on the history of the Castle and provided good responses to my many and varied questions on the region,

Gert was super friendly and knowledgeable! He made a point to show us the highlights of old Carcassonne, the bridge between the later addition & the town square. He added some special unexpected touches to the trip. The tour added to our appreciation of this lovely place.

Really fun und thought out tour. The guide was very knowledgeable about the city. The tasting was a nice touch but I expected a bit more. We went to a restaurant the was among the recs of the guide and were pleasantly surprised. He even dropped us off at our restaurant which we both thought was really sweet.
