Flo and Jenn were a joy from beginning to end on this hugely enjoyable kayak and Marine animal trip. This is a very easy trip and you are looked after every step of the way. Birds and local animals are explained and the time on the water is a joy. One of the highlights of our trip sos far (and its still unlikely that we will watch Mions, Jenn)
I had booked a trip to Namibia last April and a kayak tour with Eco Kayak Marine, but I was forced to cancel it for a serious and unforeseeable reason: the illness and sudden death of my father. I contacted them to explain the situation, hoping for at least a credit or a commercial gesture. The response was cold and inflexible: no refund, no solution, no humanity. I canceled 12 days before the scheduled date, while the general terms and conditions of sale state that "If the booking is canceled within 14 days of the activity date 100% of the booking fee will be charged as a cancellation fee". I understand that there are cancellation policies, but in such exceptional circumstances, a minimum of empathy for my grief would have been the least they could do. All the other hotels and activity providers made a gesture. Eco Kayak Marine was the only exception, even after I sent them my father's death certificate. I lost more than €200 for an activity I did not do. Even when I asked to postpone the activity to October (rescheduling our trip), they wouldn't hear of it. You don't book a trip like that just to cancel it for fun. Their lack of empathy deeply shocked me. And it's not as if their booking calendar wasn't full every day...! Under the guise of ecology and closeness to nature, could Eco Kayak Marine have become a money-making machine?
A great tour , must choose this activity when you visit in walvis bay
We combined this trip with a half-day in Sandwich Harbor. Great experience! Absolute recommendation! Everything is excellently organized: materials, clothing, snacks, drinks,...
Unforgettable experience with top-notch guides, thanks for everything!!
So amazing experience ! After meeting our guide Flo at our meeting point, we were drive to Pelican Point for kayaking with the seals. All along the way, Flo explained everything to us about the birds, flamingos, animals we met, the salt industry.... Flo was very fun and nice and seemed to love his job so much ! The experience with the seals was great, unforgettable ! We wished we could have stayed longer among them ... Such a priviledge ! We were offered some delicious sandwiches after kayaking ... Eco Marine Kayak tour also arranged with sandwaves for us to visit sandwich harbour with 4x4. They did everything and it was just the most perfect day and a highlight of our holidays. I strongly recommend this company. Ask for Flo!
What a fantastic experience! Had an amazing time. Kayaking was great fun. Guides were brilliant - making sure we did not go into middle of sea colony but kept a safe and respectful distance, while still being able to enjoy seeing these gorgeous animals in their natural habitat. Thank you for a truly memorable experience.
Booked the half day kayak direct with EcoMarine. When we got to the beach, as a solo traveler, I had the choice of a twin kayak sharing with the instructor/guide or a solo kayak; I have done kayaking before, so I chose the latter. We spent about 45-60 mins on the water moving near the edges of seal groups in the lagoon. You do not go into the seal groups, the animals approach you. They will surround you, bump your kayak, snap at your waterproofs and bite your paddle! Our instructor likened them to naughty, inquisitive puppies, and that is about right – you are a interesting newcomer near to their seal 'pack', and these intelligent creatures are not at all aggressive or fearful, just curious and playful. After we had finished we had coffee, sandwiches and pastries on the beach. We began the tour at Walvis Bay waterfront at about 8am and were back there by about 12.30. Our instructor 'Flo' was a top man and very knowledgeable about the wildlife and much else Namibian. When we did our tour I saw other tourists looking at the seal colonies from motor launches. For me, a slow kayak paddle, where the seals can approach you, and you will be amongst them, seems a much better way to observe these animals. This was a truly excellent experience.
It was a fantastic experience for our family (2 children aged 10 and 12) to kayak and watch the seals play. Our guide Flo shared his enthusiasm with the guests, and it was truly unique. We can recommend it 100%.
Our guide Florian was amazing. He speaks several languages and was totally fun. The time on the water was great and it was truely an amazing experience.
