We had the most wonderful experience in Gulmarg, and a huge part of that credit goes to our guide, Anwar. From the moment we met him, he took complete responsibility for making our trip smooth, safe, and truly memorable. Anwar helped us through every activity—explaining things patiently, managing logistics effortlessly, and ensuring we were always comfortable. What really stood out was the way he cared for our child. He played with him, kept him engaged, and most importantly, made sure he was safe at all times, which gave us immense peace of mind as parents. He is extremely kind, trustworthy, and attentive, always checking in to see if we needed anything and adjusting plans according to our comfort. His local knowledge of Gulmarg is excellent—he guided us to the best spots, helped us avoid hassles, and made sure we experienced the place in the most authentic and relaxed way possible. Anwar doesn’t just do his job; he does it with heart. He treats you like family, not tourists. His calm nature, positive attitude, and genuine care made our trip stress-free and joyful. In Feb 2025 we visited Gulmarg, Kashmir. We wanted to see the snowfall during out trip. Before we traveled I wanted to make sure that we take with us appropriate clothing and arrange hotel which will keep us warm in minus temperatures. Feb was a good time as snow had already fallen and covered the peaks and lower areas, while we were just pass the harsh winter where roads can get blocked. I needed a guide to take care of sightseeing and iternery at Gulmarg. And most importantly to make our travel peaceful and free of nuisance. At that time I didn't realise the importance of guide in Gulmarg. On our way to Gulmarg, our Guide Anwar 9596558770 arranged snow boots, long coats, waterproof gloves, waterproof socks from a shop in Tangmarg at good price. When we arrived in Gulmarg, the guide was at the hotel to greet us, even though our commitments were for next two days. I even asked the Guide to get us extra pairs of snow boots/coats for our relatives who didn't purchase them in Tangmarg. Guide arrived next day with snow clothings, took us to Gandola ride, get us through the queues quickly. At our Phase 1 station, Anwar arranged Skiing, then Snow biking, then Sledge ride. He got us best prices, about half of what they are asking for initially. He arranged activities one after another and help us save time and effort. Having guide with us also helped to avoid vendors pestering us. The next day he arranged skiing in Gulmarg area and arranged ATV ride. Anwar understood what I was seeking from our trip and arranged the activities to cover them beautifully. He helped us save a lot of money, time and effort. And he our trip delightful and serene. I am glad he took care of all our needs. He even helped to get some groceries, visit ATM and arranged short rides from hotel to market. During my trip to Kangdogri station, I was short of cash, while my GPay limit had reached. Anwar paid for us, then I paid him later after visiting ATM.
