It was a lovely, informative ride through the Gettysburg countryside. There is narration played giving information about the battle and the overall history of the area.The train is very comfortable and offers snacks and drinks for purchase in the concession car.
Did not care for the tour was hoping to see historical stuff and nothing but modern houses and fields, dissaponted
We thought we would be able to see things from the train, but you don't. Just a lot of trees and the back of people's houses. The train was clean and the staff friendly. There was a slight continuous waft of poop smell and we were far away from the bathroom so not sure what happened there.
Did not see much historical stuff mainly fields and modern homes. Train was very nice and comfortable tour was boring.
Ensure you have plenty of time to park and make your way to the train. Snacks are available for purchase during the train ride , they only take cash. Get ready to learn amazing history that was not taught growing up
Relaxing ride with refreshments but does not cover much of the battlefield. The railway staff were very friendly.

The ride enjoyment was diminished by a very cold train car. It must have been 62 degrees with cold, breezy A/C running the whole ride. I spoke to our #1862 car conductor about turning it down and he said, “that’s just the way it is.” My 3 young grandsons were all in t-shirts on a hot summer day, but were very cold on the train ride, as were my wife and I. This should be addressed for your future guests. Our ride was on July 30th at 11:00.
Beautiful restored Service Cars were above my expectations. Customer service was also exceptional. The train ride through the northern suburbs of Gettysburg was amazing and informative from the announcer. Highly recommended looking forward to our next trip when I bring my family up. Thank you.
The points of interest on the prerecorded commentary were difficult to pick out. Some points were just “ in the area” or didn’t exist anymore. I did not realize we would only see the back side of the Eternal Peace Light, and then only a small portion of the top of it. The train car itself was nicely restored and comfortable.
