The air-conditioning in the van driving us to Mount Vernon was not working well and it was very hot. Once you get to Mount Vernon, you’re on your own, so it depends on the crowds. We had about three hours at Mount Vernon, which was really not enough because there’s lots to see.

I am currently on the bus to the Mt Vernon. I’m sweating in the back seat. No A/C back here and the seat is bumpy. I am dripping with sweat.

Don’t miss the home of George and Martha Washington. So much great information to learn here. The walk to his tomb and the Potomac River were beautiful. Martha’s house garden was amazing! All the animals were just a reminder of how special the place really was to them.
