I had been to Cairo before and seen the old Museum so I booked this to visit the new GEM - Gerges picked me up at my Cairo hotel and he was courteous and knowledgeable and an excellent guide explaining all and answering all my questions ! Highly recommend him for any Cairo tours and to see more of Egypt.
We booked GEM and Alexandria two daily tours from Twitter Egypt. I have good experience with Issac, especially for his excellent response, communication and coordination.
We had a top notch morning with Hoda at the GEM today. Thank you Isaac @ Twitter Travel for setting us up with Hoda and a driver as requested. Hoda was a mine of info today on the key exhibits she had selected for us to inspect in the museum to complement our recent visits this week to Alexandria, Seqqara, Dhashur, Memphis and the Giza pyramids complex In the last 1.5 hours of our 4 hours together, Hoda took us thru key exhibits in the Tutankamun Galleries, linking these well with other exhibits we saw earlier. We were then set up to inspect Khufu’ boat galleries on our own before a lovely lunch at Zooba (her recommendation) Her explanations were clear and informative, relating at times, to the historical period and centres of power in Egypt at that time. Our morning with Hoda set us up perfectly to continue that afternoon and a return visit later in the week. We recommend Hoda highly.

What a great tour! The Grand Egyptian Museum is phenomenal in every way and our guide, Bassant, gave a fantastic tour. She provided good background, like the mummification process, that really helped us understand what we were seeing. The Tut exhibit is worth the price of entry alone. Thanks Bassant!

Bilal was our tour guide and spoke both excellent English and German. His introduction was already very well structured and informative. Although the museum is huge and offers an incredible amount of exhibits, he first gave us a very good overview of the most important areas and topics. The tour lasted a total of three hours and was very interesting. Afterwards, I stayed in the museum for another seven hours to look at everything in peace. Thanks to Bilal's detailed introduction, I was able to orient myself without any problems and knew exactly which areas I wanted to take a closer look at. The Grand Egyptian Museum is very large, and without a good introduction, you can get lost in the museum. Bilal gave us an excellent foundation for this and thereby made the museum visit a special experience for me. In between, I took a break at the Zooba Restaurant in the Grand Egyptian Museum. The atmosphere was great, the food very delicious, and the service staff extremely friendly and attentive. I can therefore only recommend the restaurant – a perfect way to refresh yourself during the museum visit.
We directly arranged this tour with the company, and our guide was Hoda, while the driver was Kyrillos. Both of them took the time to understand our preferences and customized our tour to focus on the museums we wanted to visit. Everything was punctual and managed smoothly throughout the trip. Hoda was an excellent guide, providing detailed explanations and answering all our questions with ease. If you’re looking for a hassle-free trip to Gem, I highly recommend this tour.
The GEM in Giza is overwhelming and a must for everyone. Unfortunately, our guide spoke such poor English that we could hardly follow his content-rich explanations of the very impressive exhibits. Therefore, you should save yourself a guided tour and let the museum have its effect on you.
