ジャフナの町を出ると、風光明媚なパンナイ・コーズウェイ（本土と周辺の島々を結ぶ橋）を渡ります。 穏やかなラグーン、漁船、地元の鳥の生態を眺めながら、のどかな眺めをお楽しみください。 スリランカ北部の海岸の魅力を見事に紹介しています。
神奈海プラムウェルカムカーブ（通過のみ） 島々に向かって進むと、神奈海プラム・ウェルカムカーブを通過します。このカーブは、道路の優雅な屈曲で、暖かい視覚的な挨拶を提供します。 本土から島嶼部への変遷を示すスポットで、穏やかな風景が垣間見える。
「KKD」の愛称で親しまれるクリカドゥワン・ジェッティは、デルフト（ネドゥンテブ）やナイナティブなどスリランカ北部の島々へ向かうフェリーの主要な発着地となっている。 ジャフナから車で約1時間の場所にある桟橋までの道のりは、田園風景と車道の景色を眺めることができます
デルフト島（ネドゥンテヴー ） ― 野生の美の離島 デルフト島は、地元ではネドゥンテエフ島（Neduntheevu）と呼ばれ、パルク海峡のジャフナ沖約35kmに位置する穏やかな離島である。 クリカドゥワン桟橋からフェリーで1時間ほどでアクセスできるこの島は、自然の美しさと歴史的な陰謀が融合したユニークな島です。
01. デルフトワイルドホースサンクチュアリ デルフト島は、16世紀にポルトガル人によってもたらされた馬の子孫である野生のポニーが有名である。 これらの美しい動物たちは、島の開けた平原を自由に歩き回り、厳しく乾燥した環境で生き抜いています。 島の植民地時代の昔を彷彿とさせる生きた姿を、自然の生息地で楽しむことができます。
02. ペルカマラム（バオバブの木 ） ― ―デルフトの古代巨人 デルフト島には、樹齢400年を超えるとされるバオバブの巨木、ペルーカマラムが顕著に見られます。 何世紀も前にアラブの商人によって導入されたこの珍しい木は、太い幹と無秩序な枝が際立ち、島の多様な歴史と自然の美しさを垣間見ることができます。
03. グロウイング・ストーン – デルフトの自然驚異 デルフト島のグローイング・ストーンは、地元の人々が時間をかけてゆっくりと大きくなると考えている神秘的なサンゴ岩です。 この魅力的な自然の形成は島の魅力を高め、村人たちの間で多くの伝説を生み出してきた。 素朴でありながら好奇心旺盛な光景は、驚異と想像力を誘う。
04. ガジュマルの大木 自然の森 デルフト島の北東部には、地元で「アラマヴァナム」と呼ばれる印象的な大きなバンヤンの木があります。 この巨木は長い年月をかけて成長し、垂れ下がった根が地面に伸びて新しい幹を形成して広がっています。 これらが組み合わさって、長さ60メートル、幅30メートル前後に及ぶ広くて日陰のある林冠が作られ、たった一本の木から生まれた小さな森のように見える。 自然の魅力が感じられる、美しく穏やかなスポットです。
05. クイーンズタワー 植民地時代のビーコン クィンダ・タワーとも呼ばれるクイーンズ・タワーは、デルフト島の南東海岸にある歴史的建造物である。 植民地時代に建てられたこの塔は、三角点と昼間の船の航行補助として機能し、また灯台のようにも機能し、根元に灯された火が煙突のような管を通して光を上方へ押し出す真空を作り、遠くから船員を誘導した。 今日、クイーンズ・タワーはデルフトの植民地時代の遺産と島の歴史のユニークな部分の象徴として建っている。
06. 鳩の巣 – デルフトの古代の伝言塔 デルフト島の鳩の巣は、オランダ植民地時代に建てられた小さな石の塔である。 島と船と本土の間で重要なメッセージを伝える伝書鳩を飼育するために使われた。 今日では、初期のコミュニケーション方法を思い起こさせる、シンプルだが魅力的な存在として立っている。
07. オールド・ダッチ・ホスピタル―エコーズ・オブ・コロニアル・ケア 次の目的地は、オランダ植民地時代の歴史的建造物、オールド・ダッチ病院です。 サンゴの石と石灰岩で造られたこの構造物は、かつて島の兵士や入植者の小さな医療センターとして機能していた。 現在は廃墟となっているが、初期の医療制度とデルフトの歴史を形作った植民地時代の影響を垣間見ることができる。
08. 古いオランダの法廷―植民地時代の正義の跡 次に、オランダ植民地時代に法律事務を扱っていた旧オランダ宮廷を訪ねます。 サンゴと石灰岩を使って建てられたこの質素な建物は、島の入植者の裁判所として機能した。 現在、廃墟は、かつてデルフト島で運営されていた植民地行政と司法制度を静かに思い起こさせるものとして建っている。
09. オランダ要塞 デルフトの静かなる守護者 デルフト島のオランダ要塞は、植民地時代に石灰岩とサンゴを使って建設された。 現在はほとんど廃墟となっているが、かつては島を守る拠点となっていた。 その遺跡を歩くと、デルフトの歴史的な過去とオランダ建築の影響を垣間見ることができます。

Unforgettable tour with Mr. Arun - Higly recommend. Mr. Arun is hand down one of the best tour guides I have ever had! He was extremely punctual picked me up right on time from my ride, and laid out the entire itinerary and activities clearly from start. His knowledge of Sri Lanka history and Hinduism is outstanding. He took the time to explain the deeper meaning behind the Temple prayers and their spiritual benefits which made the experience so much more meaningful. Beyond the sights, he truly looked after me-treating me authentic, traditional Jaffna food and refreshing Aloe Vera drink! We also had a fantastic boat ride. He dropped me back at the hotel on schedule. Mr. Arun is warm, friendly, exceptional knowledge and worth every single penny. I highly recommend his services to anyone visiting
Could not recommend more! Arun made it such a fun, interactive, engaging day - I learnt so much and had the best time. The early pick up is a more than a fair trade off for an action packed and full day of learning, exploring, eating, drinking and adventuring. Arun is a wonderful guide and so knowledgeable about the region - answering all of our niche questions and providing super insightful facts. Seeing the wild horses was an absolute highlight, along with the delicious lunch and the dip in the ocean! If you are heading to Jaffna, definitely do this tour - you will not regret it.
Wonderful day in Delft Island
Arun was our guide for a day tour to Delft Island. It was an incredible day and one the highlights of our trip to Jaffna. The island itself is beautiful and there's so much to see, and we really appreciated having Arun to help us navigate the trip over on the ferry, and around the island. He knew so much about the area (and the wildlife!), answered all of our questions and was so warm and friendly even at the end of a long day in the sun. He did everything he could to make sure we had a great time - we would highly recommend!
We loved our tour with Jeenu. She was very lovely and took care of everything. We got a tuk-tuk tour of this unique island and had a really tasty lunch at Delft Village Stay. Highly recommend for an authentic experience (the boat among others!).

A wonderful experience going to Delft island with Arun. From the wild landscape, the ponies and knowledge that Arun provided , I had a wonderful time. Arun also took me around Jaffna and the wetlands. Definitely a place to visit if you are going up north. Also Arun knows the best places to get food!
Such an amazing trip, a must if you are visiting Jaffna. Arun, our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the islands, the wildlife, the history. There wasn't a question he couldn't answer. Lunch is included at a quirky hangout which had a very calm, serene vibe. The food was excellent. The ferries to both islands aren't for the faint hearted but gives you a real incite into local life. Delft Island is very different to most of Sri Lanka so you see another side of this beautiful country. We saw the wild ponies, a sea eagle, the baobab tree and the banyan tree, the old dutch hospital and the lighthouse where a refreshing drink of aloe and cactus was greatly received. The Hindu temple on Nainativu was absolutely stunning and on the drive back the sunset was amazing. This is an all day tour which is tiring but well worth it. It's fun, interesting and totally authentic. Do not miss out book today you won't be disappointed!
This is a brilliant and adventurous tour of Delft and Nainativu with excellent guide Sewa who has great knowledge and a loving and warm personality. The boat trip itself is an adventure and Delft is beautiful with it’s wild horses and peaceful surroundings. The lunch was really good too. I highly recommend this tour, I had the best experience.
We had a wonderful time. Our guide Swati was very knowledgeable and brought the history of the place to life with fascinating anecdotes. The organization was perfect from start to finish and the driver was great! An unmissable experience that we highly recommend.
