If you're planning a trip to Ecuador, do yourself a favor and book a tour with David at The Ecuadorian Tour Guide Co. It was one of the highlights of our vacation. Before we arrived, David helped us arrange a full-day trip to the Otavalo Indigenous Market. Along the way, he made several wonderful stops that we never would have discovered on our own, including Cayambe, a small artisan biscuit bakery, and a roadside flower market where we learned about Ecuador's incredible preserved roses that can stay beautiful for up to five years. These unexpected stops made the day even more memorable. During the tour, David asked what our plans were for the next day. Since we were only thinking about exploring Quito's historic district on our own, we happily booked another day with him—and we're so glad we did! Our second day included a visit to the Equator, a ride on the TelefériQo cable car for breathtaking views over Quito, and a fascinating tour of the historic district. David explained the different parts of the city, shared the history behind the churches and landmarks, and we were even lucky enough to experience local celebrations taking place that day. What truly sets David apart is that he doesn't feel like just a tour guide. He's warm, knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely wants his guests to experience the very best of Ecuador. By the end of our two days together, we felt like we had made a new friend. We enjoyed our time with David so much that we've already promised to return in a few years—and next time we're bringing friends so they can experience Ecuador with him too. We couldn't recommend David and The Ecuadorian Tour Guide Co. more highly!

It can be a long drive but our guide always checked to see if we needed health breaks. The day is a full and interesting one if you want to check out the Otavalo and Cotacachi markets and our guide recommended an excellent restaurant for lunch. David our guide was excellent and really made the long day work beautifully.

David was an excellent guide - Very prompt and very professional. He was very considerate and caring - especially with my elderly Mum, who found it difficult to walk. He was more patient to wait for her than I was! He was an incredible fount of knowledge and seemed to know the answers to everything. I would not hesitate to use him or recommend him again. Recommended 10/10. David is a very friendly and professional guide. The car is very clean. He is always available to answer any questions. He knows a lot about Ecuadorian culture and the "tips" of Ecuadorian food. It's undoubtedly the best attraction if you want to learn more about the culture surrounding Ecuador.

From Quito, we explored Quitsato, Bizcochos San Pedro in Cayambe, the Otavalo Indigenous Market, Cascada de Peguche, and Cotacachi. Our guide, David, was exceptional—knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about sharing Ecuador’s rich culture and history. Our guide, David, was incredible! He picked us up from our old town hotel right on time and navigated the city streets of Quito easily. Although our tour was just to the Otavalo Indigenous Market (on Wednesday), David stopped along the way to visit some other important and very interesting sites. When we got to the market, he gave us more time to browse than was typical, and we purchased some amazing souvenirs to take home to our family members. The indigenous people at the market were very friendly and helpful, anxious to sell their wares but not overly pushy. Also they were willing to negotiate a bit. We had a wonderful time, and David was an exceptional guide.

David was amazing and very knowledgable. Being on the Equatorial one and seeing waterfalls and the surrounding areas was great. Lunch was delicious.
