Very nice experience. Our guide was professional and very attentive. He gave us lots of information about the place . Highly recommended place to visit !

We simply found Bodh Gaya, a sacred place for attaining positive energy and self insight. The Great Buddha statue which we saw was the biggest in India. Mahabodhi temple where the Lord Buddha attained spiritual powers was truly pleasant . Bodhi tree and the Archaeological museum with statues and pillars of 3rd and 4th Centuries was simply magical

Both the guide and the driver were very kind, and we enjoyed the tour, touring Mahabodhi Temple and the surrounding temples built by various Buddhist countries, and getting a feel for the differences in architectural culture between countries. However, the roads between Patna and Bodh Gaya were not very well paved, and I got carsick. If you get carsick, I recommend being careful when participating. If the road conditions improved, I think we could have spent a little more time on the tour itself.

My grandparents were from the state of Bihar, with some of our ancestral roots tied to Gaya. I booked this day tour through JPMorgan travel, it seemed like a perfect one day event as I had limited time. I couldn’t have gone with a better company. Mr Jai Singh was my initial point of contact who’s a great industry professional. He then connected me with Mr Arun who was going to my lead my private tour. Now let me tell you about Mr Arun, this guy is absolutely incredible. He’s very knowledgeable, has earned professional academic training in religious/cultural tourism, and is a phenomenal tour guide. I was picked up from my hotel in Patna at 7AM. The the distance from Patna to Bodh Gaya is only 120KM(74miles), most of the roads in Bihar are unpaved and traffic is atrocious. It took us 4 hours to get there. So total 8 hour round trip. If you have time, I would recommend breaking it over couple days as the drive could be very tiring. Once I reached Bodh Gaya, it was perfect. Mr Arun greeted me and started the tour, we visited half dozen monasteries, the large Buddha statue, and the main temple. Dalai Lama was visiting the town so the place was vibrant with devotees and monks. Beautiful experience overall.

A fantastic experience from start to end! By booking this package you start into motion an entire team of professionals who have your best interest in mind, it is the best way to sightsee. You wouldn't want to miss anything or not think anything through that might take away from your adventure, would you? With this package all you have to do is hop in the car and be ready to soak up spirituality, Buddhism, world history, and all while in a very holy place. Highlights: 1) highly professional driver made it his personal duty to ensure I was always safe, comfortable, and on time for each stop. He bought me authentic Indian tea along the swift and direct route! I had a ton of fun. 2) Arun, the dedicated tour guide in Bodhgaya, is incredible. He is native to that area and he went to school to teach tourism. Many tourists had student guides that day, I had a teacher. I felt so lucky and I learned so much. 3) Discovery Activities, the local company arranged through Trip Advisor, immediately Whatsapped me personally after I booked, and I got to interact with a human who helped me prepare for my adventure every step of the way. So appreciated. There is so much I didn't know without the help of this package, from ideal routes, to which restaurants are safe, to when the temples of the area open and close for brief cleaning each day, I am SO GLAD I hired these experts to guide and direct me. Thank you Trip Advisor, and thank you Discovery Activities, I will be back to stay in Bodhgaya for 2-3 nights next time and I will definitely ask to hire you again!

We appreciated the driver and organizer's flexibility and patience to accommodate an early departure from Patna and subsequent return via Gaya Airport. The driver was also willing to take us to the various temples, sites, and statues. Please note, mobile phones are not allowed inside of the Mahabodhi Temple, so if you want to take photos inside the compound, you will need to bring an actual camera and pay the small fee to do so.

The driver-guide was really helpful and assisted wherever it was needed. He also ensured that we ate at good and hygienic restaurants
