La Palma has an extraordinary recent volcanic history, and conveying not only the facts but also what the eruption meant for the island and its people is an important part of the visit. I completely understand that you would have liked more time in Santa Cruz and also to see the area where the lava flows reached the sea. On a day trip from Tenerife, the ferry schedules and the distances between the different areas of La Palma unfortunately force us to make choices. Adding more time in one place would inevitably mean leaving another important part of the itinerary out. For that reason, we try to create the best possible balance between the volcanic area, the landscapes, the history of the island and Santa Cruz within the time available.
