説明

Talampaya National Park blew me away—it's one of those places that makes you feel tiny in the best way possible. Driving through the massive red canyon walls that tower up to 200 meters high, with those wild rock formations shaped by millions of years of wind and erosion, feels like stepping into another planet. We did the classic guided tour in the minibus, stopping at spots like the petroglyphs (ancient rock art that's incredibly well-preserved), the Botanical Garden with its unique desert plants, the Gothic Cathedral formation, and El Monje rock—every turn revealed something more stunning, with the deep red tones changing dramatically in the afternoon light. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site for good reason: the geology, fossils from the Triassic era (early dinosaurs!), and the sheer scale of it all are mind-blowing.What made the visit even better was how well-organized everything is—guides are knowledgeable and passionate, sharing stories about the indigenous cultures and paleontology without overwhelming you. We spotted some guanacos and birds along the way, and the silence in the canyon is almost magical. If you're in La Rioja or anywhere nearby, don't skip this; it's worth the drive from Villa Unión. Go early to beat the heat and catch the best light—it's easily one of the most impressive natural wonders in Argentina. Highly recommend booking the tour in advance!
Beautiful! Safety pin! Admission: Almost $32,000, there are plans per family. You get on a local bus with a guide and have several stops. Griselda was our guide, very friendly, attentive to the group, excellent explanation of each stop. In the middle of the tour they served us tea/coffee and almonds, walnuts and raisins.
