その名は「太陽の家」という意味。 テペヤウアルコ自治体に位置し、非常に精巧な計画とすべての構造における対称性から、スペイン前メキシコで最も都市化された都市とみなされている。 この都市は火山性溶岩流の上に築かれ、紀元150年から200年の間に文化的なピークに達したと考えられているが、発見されたのは19世紀半ばで、その規模は約867ヘクタールに及ぶ。 カントナは、複雑で効率的な道路網で他のメソアメリカの都市中心部とは一線を画しており、人口をつなぐ約4,000本の通りや、畑、採石場、貯水池、その他の町へと続く小道があったと推定されている。 球技場も20面。

This was definitely one of the greatest tours we have done in any country! Our tour Guide Aaron is very knowledgeable on everything, we learned so much more than we thought with this tour, Cantona is amazing full of rich history we actually liked it more than Teotihuacan. The transport was also great, clean vehicle and easy pick up and drop off. a really good driver too. They took us to a restaurant halfway through the trip and it was delicious.
This is a really incredible “less traveled” archeological destination and it’s worth every penny. The lagoon was also a very beautiful and scenic stop.
