Excellent service. The prior communication via chat was very clear. They picked us up at the agreed time, very punctual, the driver was very kind and very experienced. Upon arriving at the port, the coordination was very good. They even allowed us to bring an additional medium suitcase along with the two small ones we had at no extra cost. Very pleased with the service from Paraty Tours.

Very easy transfer from Paraty to Ilha Grande. Boat tour included. We were picked up from the tour office as our accommodation was in the old city where the roads are not good. Someone met us in Angra dos Reis with our tickets and helped us get the boat tour included ilha grande.
Driver was on time and picked me up on foot from Hotel Sandi, as there is no direct vehicle access. Just one other pick up then direct to Angra Dos Reis where we were met by a representative who issued tickets and informed we had approx. 1 hour wait until the boat transfer. There are seats undercover to stay out of the sun / rain. They saw us onto the boat. Boat was fast and also undercover (top and sides) though best not to sit at the front if you don't want to be hit by sea spray- maybe it was worse as it was raining too. Easy!
Door to door is more like 3 hours - bus transfer is smooth but jumping on the boat with luggage we got absolutely drenched as the boat isn't properly sheltered from the rain and waves.
What AN amazing company. They assisted me with a transfer from Ilha Grande and a boat tour at the very last minute. They got the captain to wait for me. Absolutely going above what was required. Highly recommend.

Good organization and friendly and available staff. The transfer was smooth in a small clean and comfortable coach, we were taken care of from arrival in Angra Dos Reis to get on the boat.

The drive from Paraty to Angra dos Reis was good. But then it was a little disorganized. We were told where to line up, but were not handed a ticket. Later, when I was already in line, I received a ticket saying that I was wanted. Then suddenly all Paraty tours employees disappeared. But the boarding worked wonderfully.

We were told the 0830 departure did not have hotel pick up, yet we drove around Paraty for 40 minutes picking up every other passenger, despite having been at the pick up at point at 0830 ourselves. Find an operator that’ll stick to their word.
A mixed review here. First time in Brazil and we wanted to go to stay for a few nights on the island of Ilha Grande. We had booked accommodation but otherwise knew nothing about the island. The guy in the office, (Renan?) was very keen to sell us a package of pick up from our Posada, transport and ferry ticket. We told him we would have all our luggage as we would be going on from there to Rio. It was certainly more expensive than other companies offering a similar service. At no time did he ask where on the island we were staying or mention the fact that there are several ferries going to different locations on the Island. He just booked us on one. On the day of travel our pick up was late ( we had to get our hosts to call the office to see if they were coming). It eventually arrived (no apology or explanation). We were told 8;30 but be ready at 8:10. Van arrived 8:45 so 35 minutes hanging around. When we arrived at the ferry terminal it was only then we found out by chance (talking to another Paraty tours rep Jasmin) about all the other ferries and that we were in fact booked on a ferry going nowhere near where we needed to be. Jasmin was excellent and managed to book us on the correct ferry but we did, in fact, have to pay for our luggage. The office were not prepared to help with that. As I say, Jasmin was excellent but the office could have done much better by asking a couple of simple questions to make sure they were sending us to the right place. A bit too keen to get the money we felt.

We paid extra to get picked up from our accommodation but the tour operator was so badly organised (constantly asking where our address was) that we gave up and just dragged our luggage to their office to ensure we got on the bus. They delayed the departure by one hour and spent extra time trying to find the other passengers before finally departing. We were so late we missed our connecting boat. Another delay til we finally got to Ilha Grande. We were so stressed and exhausted by the time we arrived. Not a good experience.
Dear Customer, We appreciate your comment on Tripadvisor, we value all opinions, both positive and negative. However, it is necessary to clarify some points that you mention: it did not take us long to find your address, what happened is that you did not have WhatsApp and you were not clear in informing your location since you were in a private home and not in a hotel like It is set on the platform it should be. Furthermore, it was in the heart of the historic center of Paraty, and if you have studied the destination before arriving you should know that the tide rises and the historic center is isolated with its small stone streets completely flooded and that prevents vehicle access to the place. The pick-up is only made in recognized hotels and inns and when there is high tide we cannot enter the historic center, and one of the requirements that we strongly request is that the client provide a WhatsApp to speed up communication, but you did not do it. It is also important to clarify that you never lost your boat, since you boarded the next boat that left immediately after the first, meaning that you arrived at Isla Grande in a timely manner.
